  1. i started about the same time as you with the same dosage and my face is REALLY oily. did you get more oily at all before you got dry?
  2. i'm 5 days into my course and i'm experiencing an initial breakout. my skin is VERY oily and i am getting these pimples that come to a head very quickly. they would form in the morning and become a hard whitehead by the evening. has anyone experienced this? how long can I expect this to last?
  3. how is your skin condition? I would suggest getting some salon quality shampoo and conditioner to help with the hair. But I think you should continue and finish your course, unless you're 70% or more clear.
  4. i like the olay complete moisturizer. the spf 15 one has aloe and vitamin e which will help your skin heal faster. for lips, get a good chapstick and aquaphor. for eyes, i use visine tears. if your hair is dry use neutrogena tgel. if it is really dry and shedding, u might want to get a really moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, preferably salon quality.
  5. if you're not getting any breakouts then you shouldn't use it. proactiv contains very strong ingredients like glycolic acid. i would actually recommend the CSR regimen over proactiv.
  6. how long were you clear for before it came back?
  7. aquaphor. if you don't have that try vaseline, neosporin, or a&d ointment.
  8. is this normal? I thought accutane made your skin and lips really dry. I have noticed that my skin is becoming oily very quickly after I wash my face.
  9. depends on your body weight. generally it should be at least 120mg x kg. so lets say I weight 65kg. my cumulative dose should be at least: 120 * 65 = 7800mg of course everything depends on the individual. but at this cumulative dosage, the chance of full remission is high.
  10. my fish oil softgels contain 10mg of cholesterol. is that a lot?
  11. you should exercise and eat right. these things will effect your cholesterol levels. and maybe milk thistle supplements for your liver.
  12. do you live in the united states? i read in an article that US dermatologists perscribe the highest dosage of isotretinoin. It looks like your derm has you on a low dose course. Nevertheless, your skin should clear up the same way regardless of what dosage you are on. however the cumulative dosage is what determines whether your acne is put into remission for good. If you have no serious side effects and is comfortable with the 20mg, then i suggest talking to your dermatologist about increasing
  13. 20mg is a good starting point, but if you do not experience any serious side effects, you should increase your daily dosage to about 60mg/day (2x30mg). otherwise, acne may come back after you finish your course if you do not have a high enough cumulative dosage.
