  1. If you're interested in starting the anti-candida diet, I strongly suggest reading through http://healingnaturallybybee.com/. The site's webmaster, Bee, is a WEALTH of information, and I'm eternally grateful for her. The purpose behind Bee's diet (anti-candida) and supplements is to help build up the immune system. This is what Bee's program is really about-- it's about strengthening the immune system so that the body can turn candida back into the friendly organism it's supposed to be. I b
  2.   CONGRATS! It's good to hear that you havn't cheated and that you are having such success. I too am on Bee's diet but havn't been as persistent, but I recently turned a new leaf and am confident to see good results soon. Well I wish you the best of luck.....25 months will pass quickly. Hey, thanks for the kind words!! It's awesome that you're on Bee's diet, and even though you haven't been as persistent, you're at least on the right track. I wish you the be
  3. I've been on the anti-candida diet since April 16! I've read thoroughly the contents of HealingNaturallybyBee.com, and I have to say that it has been such an eye opener. I've also been following the recipes on her site, and they are delicious! I've also started taking most of the supplements she recommends. I believe I started these about two weeks ago. My skin is improving daily, which gives me even more determination to stick with this diet. The first couple of weeks were pure hell for
  4. thanks for the response. my derm said i would be on a low dose for about 4 or 5 months, since i'm really petite (i'm 5 feet, and i fluctuate between 85 to 90 lbs). will taking a low dose of accutane prevent a lot of the nasty side effects, or is it different for everyone? i've got a lot of thinking to do. my next appointment with the derm isn't until mid april, so i have until then to really think this through. thanks again for your responses. please keep them coming.
  5. hi everyone, it's been a while since i've posted. so, after wanting to go on accutane for a long, long time (i suffer from mild/moderate but very persistent acne), and being rejected by one derm after another, i finally found a derm who is willing to prescribe me a low dose of accutane. only problem is, i'm starting to get cold feet now. my boyfriend thinks i'm an idiot for even considering taking such a "dangerous" drug, but what the hell does he know?? his skin is freaking perfection
  6. hi guys, i was wondering if anyone has had his/her amalgam (silver) fillings taken out, and how much the procedure cost. after doing some research, i'm wondering if my acne, although it's mild, is from my amalgam fillings. whatever the case, i think it's better for my health to have them removed. i have 4 that i would like to remove, but i'm not sure if it's a smart idea for me to have them removed all at once. i was thinking i should remove two at a time? or is that too much? does an
  7. i'm just curious, is there anyone on these boards that has been cured of his/her acne? by cured i mean completely free of all kinds of acne by using nothing on his/her face. so in other words, has anyone taken accutane, gotten completely clear, and stayed that way afterwards without using BP, AHA, BHA, Retin-A, etc.? i'm seriously considering taking accutane for my extremely mild but persistent comedonal acne. i'm kind of thinking that one round of accutane will cure me, but i'm not sure, so
  8. i actually like proactiv's revitalizing toner. i believe it contains 6% AHA, and it's also alcohol free so it does not irritate skin. i really like it. i also tried paula's choice 8% AHA gel, and although it's too harsh for putting it all over my skin, it actually works great as a spot treatment. hope that helps!
  9. hmm, i don't know if this is just where i'm from, but i've noticed that i see more girls with acne, but the guys that i see suffering from acne have it way more severe than the girls do. i don't know why this is, but it's something i've definitely noticed, especially at school. has anyone else noticed this? by the way, i'm from norcal.
  10. personally, i don't think either cameron or nicole are attractive. but, i will say that cameron is far more talented than nicole will ever be. why is she famous again? she's a reality tv whore who only wishes she was famous for other reasons. i also hate the fact that people actually consider nicole a fashion icon when it's so blatantly clear that she copies kate moss and the olsen twins. she copies them and people praise nicole for being so fashionable.
  11. good luck on your course! hope everything goes well!
  12. hello, i was just wondering how exactly leave-on AHA products, such as alpha hydroxy products or paula's choice 8% AHA gel, work. i know AHA is supposed to exfoliate the skin's surface, but how exactly does it get rid of the flakes? when you apply alpha hydroxy souffle, for example, does it dissolve the flakes? or does it loosen the flakes so that they can easily be rubbed off during the next wash? let's say i use lac-hydrin 5 in the morning after my BP application; at night time, do i need
  13. thanks ayla for the advice! i was going to use grape seed oil, but i guess i'll have to use something else now. hey shimmery star, is your skin oily, too? how come you like using the method during the winter? is it bad to use in warmer weather?
