  1. This may be a very stupid question, but I'll have to ask it anyway. Does anybody know if there is a difference between sea salt and dead sea salt? If so, what is it? I have a sea salt type exfoliater from Bath and Body Works that list the ingredients as: sea salt, but I have also, seen dead sea salt products offered elsewhere. Also, does anyone have any input as to which salt works the best

  4. I have tried the ProActiv kit on and off over the years, before, during, and after Accutane and it is effective on normal acne, but as for severe cystic acne its's a no go so save your money.
  5. I would like to know how long it typically takes to notice a change in a cyst after you get a steriod injection? I am supposed to go on vacation in October and if I can't have clear skin I would at least have to 2 most noticable cysts taken care of by then cause it will at least make me feel a little better even with all this cystic acne. Also, how soon can you have them injected again if no noticable difference is made?
  6. I was wondering if anyone is able to receommend where I can find Pantothenic Acid 20% cream as I would like to try the Pantothenic Acid deficiency and acne theory. I was able to find the supplements 500mg at my local vitamin world (GNC did not carry it in the store), but I am unable to find the cream. Any suggestions? Also, has anyone has any sucess with this? Thanks!
  7. I was unaware there were that many different types of cysts. In all honestly I have no idea what type of cyst it is and I do not have a pic. I really haven't taken a picture in a long time. I avoid cameras at all cost if you know what I mean... The Doc never mentioned what type. From what I can tell you the pathology reports come back as the cysts was completely removed (they can tell by the margin that was also taken from around the cyst.) The derm seems completely confused and thought I w
  8. I literally get a cyst in the same exact spot before I am even able to have my stitches removed. One on temple and other next to it toward my eye. Pathology reports always come back stating that it was all removed (they can tell by the outer margin taken around cyst). Any ideas anyone?
  9. Well it is best to check with the Derm, but think about it you have already been given an incorrect diagnosis how many times? Honestly, with Dermatology it is pure trial n error. As with the pics. What you were probably looking at were people that have more extreme cases then yours. But every persons skin is different and to tell you the truth every part of your body is different and will heal in different ways. They will be smaller and bigger at different times. As for the texture it soun
  10. You are really not going to like this then... Been everywhere you have been and back again. If you are serious about getting rid of them you are going to have to pull all of your resources. My biggest mistake was being too optimistic, the next thing I tried was going to get rid of it and in the process it got even worse and scarring started and seems to come out of nowhere next thing you know you are exhausted trying all this stuff. Instead think WHAT IS THE WORST CASE SCENERIO? 1. They
  11. I am surprised that this is not mentioned more on this site: Look up Hidradenitis. By the way it is depressing so proceed with caution. Most affected by this see it in there armpits, stomach, groin, but it can occur anywhere you have sweat glands. Good Luck!
  12. I know exactly how you feel I went to the Dr. and told her how I felt about only leaving my house when i absolutely have to and she put me on Celexa an antidepressant with very low side effects. She said Lexapro was a good choice as well. And while my Face is still a mess I can laugh about it sometimes. I figured this way I have already loss everything and there is nothing else to lose so why not? After 10 Years of hiding it makes it alot better to not feel like a monster all the time. It t
  13. Are u currently taking any types of meds that would mess with your test results even a mutivitamin would do it. I feel your pain though after treating all the symptoms of acne. I am now (only because of this website) asking more questions about hormones and allergies and such. I am as shocked as you are though that we are always referred to the derm first and why we do not treat the underlying problem cause as we all know it is a vicious cycle. hope everything works out for you though. But
  14. Okay I basically never remember my life without severe acne. Talkin huge cysts and nodules and then some. Tried every new medicine, old medicine, vitamin, creams, gels and combinations of these. Have nasty scars everywhere and basically started asking my doctor about almost every single thing I hope will clear it up. Honestly a paper bag would be alot easier to solve this problem. Just had bloodwork done to see if I can see an endocronologist if my hormones levels are elevated. I have alot of que
  15. That is really weird. You may want to check with ur dr. again or get a 2nd opinion cause I have ezcema along with my gross acne and I have been prescribed all different kinds of topical steriods and I was told to absolutely positively do not put it on your face b/c it can cause Perioral Disease.
