  1. The past few days have been really great days. I think my skin is finally calming down. I’ve learned to notice the signs of an oncoming breakout so I can stop use of whatever caused it. I’ve also learned to distinguish the difference between breakouts and purging. I’ve learned about my skin’s needs, how to pick the right products for my skin, and overall I’ve learned how to make my skin happy. This week has been the first that my skin hasn’t had any new pimples pop up. I of course
  2. Alrighty, so I think I owe an explanation as to why I’ve been gone without an update for so long. Not long after my last update, I had a huge breakout and couldn’t bring myself to hold a camera up close to all of my imperfections and post them online. I didn’t want to take any more pictures until I cleared up, but then I got swept into.. well, life. I’ve been pretty busy. That being said, I do have a lot to say in this blog entry. After my skin freaked out on me, I immediately stop
  3. Oils can actually be quite beneficial to acne-prone and oily skin when used gently in moderation. When you have a drying face regimen, your skin can freak out on you and over-produce oil to make up for the dryness, which causes more acne. Using oil after a rougher regimen can moisturize the skin very well and actually trick the skin into recognizing the applied oil as its own sebum, halting oil production in the face and controlling oil and shine.
  4. Update 5! Hi guys! I’m sorry I haven’t been able to update on a daily basis or post daily pictures over the past few days. I’ve been super busy. That being said, I stayed consistent with my regimen, which is cool. I would say that my face has been looking just a little bit better. Today’s pictures will be labeled “Day 7” which means it’s been just about a week since this new regimen has become a regular thing for me. While I do think the active acne and the scars that were already
  5. Hello everyone, I very recently began a new regimen and had a small question. I have mild acne on my forehead and moderate to severe acne across my cheeks, and recently started a regimen that contained benzoyl peroxide and apple cider vinegar, which I've heard is a natural AHA. When I began this new regimen, a lot of the smaller clogged pores on my cheeks peaked and became whiteheads, then quickly disappeared while more reappeared. My forehead also experienced this, and clogged pores quickly
  6. Update 4! I must say, today was a pretty alright day in terms of skin, even though I’m quite sure that nothing has changed yet. I know I’m only 4 days in to this log, and no major changes could’ve possibly taken place yet to make my skin look too much better, but I really felt like I looked okay today. Sometimes I just get these random bursts of confidence, which I love, and it makes me feel okay with my skin and how it’s progressing. Today, I really believed that in 2 or 3 months, maybe

    Daily Picture Log

Here I will post daily pictures of my face until I am clear.
  8. Update 3! Okay, so still being consistent with everything. That’s cool. Buuuuut I’m getting a cystic pimple right on the peak of my cheek bone, so that’s sucky. Yknow how you can feel it way deep in your skin way before it reaches the height of its lifespan? That’s what it feels like right now, and it hurts a lot. You can see it getting redder. If you look at my left cheek’s day 3 picture in my gallery, you can definitely see it. I don’t really see any big differences in my skin to
  9. Update 2! It’s only day 2, but so far I’ve stayed completely consistent with my regimen, which is great. I’m taking pictures of both cheeks and my forehead daily to really see the results of products I use. Since it’s only day 2, I don’t really see a huge change in my skin, other than it maybe looks a little bit worse and/or irritated. I sort of expected this, as it is a newer regimen. My skin’s worsened state really isn’t that bad, and it isn’t like “allergic reaction” irritated, more li
  10. There is a chance a tapeworm was somehow in a fruit or vegetable you consumed, but it seems unlikely. Tapeworms like to live in living hosts, like humans, cows, birds, etc... They can also live in a host for several years, so your tapeworm could've been inside of your digestive tract for a while now and is just now leaving. If you eat meat/fish or used to eat meat/fish, it's more likely it was in that and came from the cow/pig/turkey/fish/etc that you were consuming. Tapeworm bodies grow by a
  11. Hello everyone! My name is Amelia, but I usually refer to myself as Amy. I’m 16 years old. I’m making this blog to tell my story and share/keep track of my skin’s progress. The reason I’m making this is really more for me, so I can see my skin’s progress and stay motivated to stick to a regimen and get clear of acne. However, it isn’t just for me, because I want someone to see this and see that it is possible to get clear if you’re determined enough. I’ll be posting pictures along with my
  12. It doesn't really do what it says?

I find that this moisturizer works well to somewhat keep acne at bay for me, but doesn't actually moisturize my face, it only makes it dryer. When I first apply it, it gives a very nice cooling sensation, and moisturizes for about 5 minutes. After that, my face is back to being dry, and applying more only worsens this feeling. However, it did not make my acne worse. Upon further inspection I see that it contains salicylic acid, which is why it keeps breakouts at bay but doesn't do much in terms
  13. Thanks snarkygirl for your advice! I'm looking into trying milk of magnesia along with some gentler face wash. However, the only type of MoM they have at my local meijer is flavored - the "wild cherry" kind. Will this make a difference, since there is most likely added ingredients for flavoring?
  14. Hello everyone! My name is Amelia and I am 16 years old. I’ve struggled with acne since I was 12 years old. I’m posting my story in hopes that I can get some advice/help from someone and maybe remind some of you out there that are struggling with acne that you are not alone. ((Before I begin this – I have considered using the Acne.org regimen but as of right now I would like to explore slightly cheaper and easier to get options. I may revisit it in the future.)) Like I said,
