  1. Currently using Spiro (I'm on Mononessa also but this was not prescribed to help my acne) too, I have been on it for about 10 weeks now and honestly have not seen much improvement in my skin yet. I am still very confident this will be my acne cure, anyway good luck with the Spiro (I have only a positive experience with it so far) and I hope we can both finally get clear skin!
  2. Nothing exciting to report, I honestly think my face looks the same. Had a few new breakouts (getting more on the left side of my face) and at this point I’ve accepted them, they don’t seem to stopping so that sucks. It is my first day of the upped dosage of the Spiro, that my last ditch effort before starting Accutane in a month. Looked in my bathroom mirror the other day with makeup on and it was bad. Acne is getting old and I am very frustrated these two medications are not helping me.

    Week 8

a new active pimple came up this morning so that was a major bummer, awful cyst from a few weeks ago is still healing (SUPER slow I might add) but right above it got 3 new pimples (waaaaay more manageable than that terrible cyst I had but still looks pretty shitty), cheek patch is in full stage of purging (such a bummer cause it had really shrunk a couple of weeks ago). It is pretty red and sore. One week away from two months of treatment. All and all everything still sucks but still have a litt

    Acne

I am by no means an expert and I am sorry to hear that your acne came back after accutane but have you ever considered getting your hormone levels tested? A lot of women have acne because there hormones levels are too high and they benefit from an androgen blocker. I am currently going through this type of treatment and I don't have clear skin yet (start of 8 weeks) but it was very encouraging to finally understand the root of my problems. Just a suggestion! Good luck and know I am praying you f

I love using ice when my pimples are inflamed and painful, I even tried using frozen green tea ice cubes (the green tea acts as an astringent and the ice reduces swelling and inflammation) Anyway I took your advice and iced the spot, helped some with the inflammation but didn't do the job completely! A week later and that bad spot is on the road to recovery! Thanks for the comment!

    Week 7

Well another week has gone by and still very frustrated. Haven’t seen much improvement at all (a little improvement in the texture) I went to my OB/GYN to have my hormones tested because something felt off and in fact my androgen levels were high (but no PCOS??) so I am definitely on the right medication (Spironolactone) to help lower those and hopefully that will help my hormonal acne. Just makes me wonder why my derm didn’t do a blood test to confirm this was a hormone problem?! That

    Week 6

Alright well this week ended on an okay note. Nothing too exciting to report, I have like 4 little whiteheads (they all appeared this morning boooo) and a cluster of like 3 cysts, that is pretty painful. I've been dealing with them for like 5 days now and they don't seem to be getting any better (veeerrry weird). Little hormonal acne bumps seems to be shrinking and skin seems to be smoother. Just trying to keep my head up and remember that clear skin is a race not a sprint.
  9. So I wanted to do an entry with a more complete list of my skincare regiment. AM: Cetaphil gentle facial cleanser (LOVE this product) Cetaphil moisturizing cream (only use a little as it is very thick- a little goes a long way!) OR Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 30 (I only wear this if I know I am going to be spending a lot of time outside) ***since the Epiduo is very drying I want to properly moisturize my skin to keep it from peelin

    Welcome!

A lot of people cut out dairy and this seems to help many. Might be worth the try. I did it and it was super easy Good luck! Acne suuuuucks but things will get better. You might also want to consider seeing a doctor if it makes you that uncomfortable! They can prescribe stuff and give some tips!

    Week 5

Well I'm through five full weeks, currently ending this week on an up but I would've loved to see more improvement at this point in the process than I have. Now don't get me wrong, I have noticed a lot of improvement but I am still a long way off from where I want to be. My skin is definitely smoother and my active zits seems to be coming in considerably smaller and I think the small bumps of hormonal acne I have are also shrinking so yes all good things. BUT I have noticed an increase of little
  12. Ugghhhhhh it has been a long week. The farther I get into this process the longer the weeks get! The week started off good---I was on a major up----the little whiteheads on my cheeks seemed to be smoothing out and I had no active pimples! My makeup looked so even and my skin was smooth (or so I thought). It was awesome and I was beginning to feel confident in this process but then I hit a down (I feel like I go through the same up and down process every week). Mid-week different lighteni

    Week 3

Alrighty, so I am one day away from 3 weeks! Everything I read says this is when things could get bad so fingers crossed they don't get any worse. It has been another week of ups and down skin wise. I have like 7 active zits (all whiteheads) and I can tell more and more stuff is coming to the surface and most of them appeared today. This has to be because of the Epiduo because they are only in places it is applied. I also felt two monster zits forming under the surface, they were sore and filled

    Week 2

Week 2 had some ups and downs for me. At the beginning of the week I was breaking out bad, I don't know if it had to do with the medications or some other factor but it was not pretty and then for some reason in the middle of the week I started to see some improvements in my skin, the texture was a lot better, not as bumpy, a huge decrease in the numbers of pimples. I still had a bunch under the surface (clogged pores=whiteheads) but things were looking better. My mother (who wouldn't say it if

    Week 1

So I have been doing using my new skin regiment for a week now. I forgot to mention that I wash with Cetaphil’s Gentle Cleanser then apply the Epiduo and then wait about 5 minutes and apply moisturizer. As for any changes go my skin has not started to dry out much at all. Nothing the Cetaphil doesn’t help. I find this so weird because the first time I used this product I began to dry out after about 4 uses. I also haven’t experienced any burning or itching that others report. Unf
