  1. Hi, I was going to buy Neutrogena's On the Spot 2.5% bp and was wondering if the tinted is just as effective, or could cause adverse reactions due to the extra ingredients?
  2. I am using the bare minerals starter set, and I was wondering how often those who suffer from acne should wash their brushes? and how?
  3. So, after arguing with the pharmacist this morning (they tried to give me TriNESSA again!), I have three packs of Ortho Tri, and will start next week. I think I am finally reading all the signs correctly about where my acne comes from and how to get rid of it. It is so totally hormonal, and I am in a very hormonally imbalanced period. Late 20s feels like a second PUBERTY! Is anyone else with me on this? Acne, mood swings, insecurity....I can't wait for my thirties, tell me I will calm down?
  4. Its for school plz help me out by filling it out! 1)Do you own an ipod? Yes 2)What kind do you have? If none leave blank. Nano 2gb 3)What color is your ipod? Or if you had one what color would it be? silver 4)Do you own an mp3 player instead?no 5)What kind of music do you listen to? indie, hip-hop, blues, rock 6)How many times has your ipod broken? 1st one broke (a mini-gold), this nano has not yet broken 7)How many times has your mp3 player broken? 8)How many songs are on your ipod/mp3 player
  5. From my experience, I find that the more drying agents i use on my face (BP especially), the more oil my face produces (sounds like compensation). I was advised by an esthetician to use Dr. Hauschka's Normalizing Day Oil, on my already oily skin. This seemed insane to me, but I tried it, and it worked really well. It absorbed really quickly, so there was no oily sheen on my face by the time I was ready to use my makeup, and my skin maintained a balanced feel all day long. I am speaking in
  6. CoveredUp

    Aspirin

I tried the Aspirin mask, and I am just curious, for those who got results, how long did it take? What I notice so far after two uses: 1.softer skin 2. less oil 3. zits have moved to the drying phase much faster. 4. slight decrease in redness My recipe: 4 crushed aspirin mixed with 99% aloe vera gel, leave on until dry (no more than 10 minutes--to start) I also started using organic apple cider vinegar as a toner. Again it is too early to tell, but i already notice: 1. fresher complexion
  7. I tried this with limited success. It seemed to do something at the beginning, but then lost effectiveness after a while. It did not make it worse though, so perhaps it is worth a try.
  8. Oxy 10 is burning my face off and making me break out. Anyone have a good vanishing cream that they think REALLY works but that is mild for more sensitive skin types?
  9. Trinessa is TRASH! I blame it for much of my acne problems. I was on Ortho TriCyclen throughout college, and had great skin (occasional breakout), then switched to generic Trinessa which made me break out like crazy (these things are so much more clear in retrospet). Now I have been off the pill for a while, but need some hormonal therapy. I am about to go back on OTC, next cycle. I will keep you informed!
  10. I literally have nightmares about going out in public without make up. I am always in my "mask" Hence the name "covered up". BUT, since I started using mineral make up (Bare Escentuals for now, but going to try Everyday Minerals), I feel less like it is a mask, though the coverage is still really good. I am at work right now too though, and even with make up, I feel like everyone is staring at my jaw line! It hurts too.
  11. Okay, posted this to the wrong forum originally, gonna try it here now: So, I am thinking of going back on Ortho Tricyclen. It is the ONLY thing that has ever consistently worked in the 15 years I have been struggling with acne. I had to go off it a while ago b/c my insurance switched me to the generic, which was a nightmare and made my acne worse than ever (TriNessa--stay away). That turned me off to the pill, plus I have cervical issues, but that is another story. Anyway, I am picking up my O

  13. What level of BP do you recommend? I can never really tell if the BP is irritating my skin, or if it is just the normal break-out taking its course.
  14. thanks for your sympathy and advice---really feels good to be able to talk about this. I think that my fear of Accutane is about a few things: 1.It is a last resort, so what if it does not work? What do you do when a last resort does not work? 2. I dont know if I can handle the getting worse before it gets better part, right now, though my skin is far from clear, I feel like I have a certain amount of control over it. I am scared to let go of that control. 3. The horror stories I have heard
