  1. Eh, most of the time I don't cope well with the scarring, but I tell myself that there are solutions out there, and I will try as much as I can to make my skin better. Since I can't try a new/expensive procedure every other week, I buy little things that make my overall skin texture and tone better. Some of the products help that, while others don't do squat. I'm also finally getting on the ball about doing a bigger procedure for my scars. I'm making 2006 the year that I go to doctors and surgeo
  2. Hey Lexisa, your post sort of comforts me. I have mostly indented scars (which arent that bad) but I had 2 scars (right next to one another) that started out very hypertrophic (red, horrible shiny texturem raised) and over a few months and with the help of a few topicals, TCA crosses and pads, improved to the point where they werent raised. Unfortunately, they are a little raised up again. They're just horrible. Texture is exactly like the kind you would get from a burn, and they're bumpy and co
  3. Thanks so much for your reply, AndrewJ. I'll check out that link right now.
  4. Hey all. I've found a doctor in my area who performs Fraxel, and I'm going to make an appointment in the near future. I have a bunch of shallow scars, a small amount of scarred pores and a few other scars that were boxcar but have improved and become shallower because of tca cross, so basically my scarring is not that severe. But I also have this area where ex-hypertrophic scars have turned into flat burn scars with that shiny/reddish texture. I read that Fraxel helps with skin texture in gene
  5. Hey there. Hmmm. Well, I did do a search on here last night for Rose Hip Oil and some people said it made them break out or aggravated their existent acne so I’m not sure. Perhaps you could use Emu oil, which doesn’t make me break out at all, until you try the Rose Hip. I’ve also heard Manuka and Camellia are nice oils. I don’t know what topicals are safe to use with Accutane so maybe you could ask your doc what he/she thinks. I don't know much about the 'Tane. Sorr
  6. I second the Vitamin C, MSM, and Zinc for healing. I use them and find that they've helped me heal better/faster and with less scarring. Too bad I've only been on them for about 2 months. :/ I take Pantothenic acid (B5) for the acne itself, and I think that has helped as well. Good luck!
  7. Hey Naitch. Now I'm going to have to pick some up based on the first article I read that said it can help lumps from scarring and skin burns because I'm having problems with that, on top of the indented scarring. I think I'll go to the local health/natural healing store or Whole Foods to buy it because I try to avoid buying stuff online ( I'm a paranoid freak, plus I hate waiting! ). I already use Emu Oil, and like that, but it only helps so much. I wanted to try Manuka oil and Camellia oil,
  8. Ylem, that makes me very sad. I really am sorry. If you ever feel like talking, please, please feel free to PM me for my screenname so we can chat. I'm always online nowadays. I know you said you have one of the most severe cases of scarring, but maybe some great procedure will come out that can help you one day, maybe scientists/doctors will find a cure for this, or maybe something in you will allow you to move past the scars and live an enjoyable life. I try to tell myself all of those thing
  9. It sounds like we have similiar problems. My area of burned texture is only in one spot though and it used to be hypertrophic scarring but it's gone down. Now it's just burned looking and always dry like yours. I think I also might have that pus problem. I find Emu Oil to help somehwat but I'm in the same boat as you. Good luck!
  10. Thank you for your reply, Rossignol. I'll keep you all updated on what I do and what happens next as I know a few people on here have some burn looking areas as well.
  11. I have been battling 2 hypertrophic scars right next to one another (one was almost directly under the other) for months now. The first scar formed this past January , and the other one formed in July. The scars were slightly raised, red, horrible shiny uneven texture, and since they were close together, they looked like one really big area of raised scar tissue. Oh, and the scar that formed in July formed right around an atrophic scar-beautiful, right!? I’m not sure what helped exactly
  12. Sorry I haven't updated, Larken. My Jamu products just arrived today! I'm going to start using them tonight on my 2 hypertrophic scars, and I'll tell you what happens in the next few days. Hope this helps them!
  13. Hey Electro. No problemo. I think there's a chance my scars could improve more if I have it done again. I have about 6 or 7 scars that are needle-able IMO. The rest of my problems are more of scarred pores, horrible skin texture, etc etc, and I've been trying to improve my overall skin texture right now with copper peptides and experimenting with loads of other topicals. I definitely think you should give it a try, especially if he agrees so if/when you see him, because 1 or a few procedures co
  14. Hey Shenzi. I had needling with Frank from Transitions this past July. He was very knowledgeable about the procedure and about skin in general. Now, around 3 months later, I'd say that overall I have gotten a 10-15% improvement in my scarring. I think the reason my improvement wasn't that much, is because my scarring isn't that severe to begin with, so It's kind of hard to tell exactly how much it improved. It definitely did help and I would have it again, and there are only 6 or 7 scars that I
  15. Your skin is really nice. Seriously. I can’t even see the keloid in that pic. J But I feel you on wanting to fix it, man. People say that mine is barely noticeable when I wear makeup, but screw that! I hate it. I think yours looks a lot better that mine, but I know we’re always our own worst critics. My scar is a bit flatter but also bigger, and it’s really red. Also, the texture is shiny and looks burned. Instead of being a protruding bubble, it’s just very bumpy a
