  1. Hiya Honey, oh oh my gosh, how you did that without any moisturiser I will never know. It must have been so painful for you!! I have very oily skin, I mean when I wake up I am so shiny and slipper (super cute look! Hehe). But I recently started putting oil on of a night. Either raw coconut oil or bio oil. When I wake up my skin is so calm and less red. I always find that whenever I wash my face my skin is soooo red, raw and inflamed. Oil just soothes it and I know by morning it will be set
  2. Just curious if anyone has ever tried an asprin wash for acne? A friend told me it used to reduce redness and her cysts Thanks guys!
  3. I think I will look into find a derm. But how do I know which to choose?? They all look pretty pricey but the stage im at now it feels worth it! i have gone back on to Qlaira as a last resort and already I no new cysts coming. Its so depressing that I have to go back on it as I find that I get side effects from it. I also have found great comfort in YouTube and also this site. With anything it's easy to feel alone. I know that when I look around all I see is peachy skin so it is nice to sp
  4. You are so right! As much as I am sad you have the same feelings as me, I am comforted I'm not alone. So thank you! I hate having a one to one conversation as I always notice people's eyes moving across my face and I get so self conscious I try to end the talk soon. I have tried accutane and sadly had to give up. My skin burned everyday and flaked so painfully. Also my eyes dried as did my lips that cracked. i wish you all the luck on accutane and please keep us updated as I know it can wor
  5. It is dreadful isn't it I have tried accutane and it dried me out so much. My lips and eyes were so painful. I'm ill at the moment with a chest infection and find that my acne thrives when I'm poorly!! Are you currently taking any form of medication ? No I haven't, it's been quite hard to find a reputable one in the U.K. They are also incredibly pricey
  6. I dread to think how much I've spent trying to clear it up! I haven't heard of Spiro? I'm from the UK, perhaps it's not available over here. Mum not opposed to birth control, it's just that it makes me spot throughout the month. And also find that I get yeast infections quite often with it. But im so at my wits end with my skin that it's my only option! I'm really worried about my scarring, I know that once it's cleared (well hopefully!) that I'll have really uneven skin texture
  7. What I meant was, people think that it is simple things like washing your face properly, or drinking more water. It has taken you 30 years to find your trigger. I couldn't be happier for you! But think it does comply with my statement that acne is complex and usually there are complex causes and usually more than one. Xx
  8. Hi honey, i had terrible break outs from microgynon pill. I did what you did and tried a million different remedies to try and clear my spots, but it seemed to make it worse!! If you can, step away from those products and choose one product and stick to it. Randomly, Bio oil and Coconut oil are the only two things that calm my skin down. They soothe the soreness and take down a lot of redness. The occassional asprin wash helps also. But less is more, I find. Sticking to one product
  9. Hi honey, Yaz dried my skin out around the 3rd month of using. The results of having less break outs were worth the dry skin for me (although I had to come off Yaz due to erratic bleeds) I found that applying a lot of Bio Oil at night and after facial washing helped heaps! Moisturiser, isn't as effective as oil, not to mention being packed full of chemicals. Mid recommend coconut oil if they dryness is extreme. It is completely natural and soooo long lasting!!! I also find that it redu
  10. I would say it is moderate honey. But that doesn't make it any better! Acne is just awful, no matter how bad it is. Fortunately, are are still young and there is plenty of time for it to clear up! I am an aesthetician and from my experience (however, it is not one rule for all) I have found that cheek acne is usually diet related, and chin area is usually hormonal. are you on birth control at all? During my younger years, I found that the right pill helped dramatically (I'm going back on Ql
  11. Hi!im totally new to posting anything about my acne! I've followed this site getting so much comfort from other's stories and advice, so thought I'd take the plunge and write one myself. Ive had acne for 11 years now, started when I was about 13 and I've never grown out of it. I generally swing between being devastated and accepting (although, this is usually when it's having an 'OK' day) I had had a brief period where my skin was immaculate! I was on the Qlaira birth control pills. It only last
