  1. Sorry just saw this. I can't remember to be honest. I feel like it did go down within the next day or so. I love cortisone shots for cystic acne though. I have gone in countless times to get one and have never had any issues with scarring or anything. They're great!!
  2. Hi everyone, I wanted to give a final update to anyone reading this blog. My skin is basically 100% clear! The clindamycin and differin worked amazingly. I am so happy! I was lucky and really did see clear skin after around 8 weeks. So to anyone wondering if they should start differin/clindamycin i would highly recommend it. For girls out there i wanted to share the two best makeup products i recommend for acne prone skin. - Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Powder Foundation -Dermablend Li
  3. My forehead is completely clear! Hoping to see the same results on my chin in a few more weeks! My face is clear enough right now that I feel comfortable not wearing makeup. My chin has been extremely dry the past week though which I don't mind too much.
  4. Sounds like it's cystic to me if they're under the skin. Those are the worst! Usually salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide don't do much for those and you have to wait them out which sucks!! I get them all the time on my chin. Try limiting your dairy intake. Cheese makes me get cystic pimples and makes my acne flare up and I have a huge love for cheese so it's hard for me not to eat it lol
  5. Everything's looking good except one side of my chin is breaking out terribly! It looks so bad. It's purging very bad only on one side of my chin. Luckily, I think this is going to be the worst of it (hopefully)! Just gotta get through a couple more weeks I hope. The pimples on my forehead are very minimal. Cheeks are clear but they haven't ever caused me too much trouble. This damn chin though.. I'm going on Week 4 so i'm almost halfway through the "purge" period. Just gotta stick with it.
  6. I feel your pain. My chin is also my main problem area. I was told it's hormonal acne. Birth control pills may help, I recommend Yaz. I take Yaz and it helped a bit. Try limiting your dairy intake as well. Eating a lot of dairy often makes my acne flare up more. As for makeup, it's impossible to cover the bumps but you can get rid of the redness. Try bare minerals makeup - specifically the blemish remedy foundation - it won't clog your pores. You can also use a green concealer to cancel out red
  7. It's day 15 on my Clindamycin/ Adapalene regimine and the initial breakout has not been bad at all. Honestly, not much different than what my skin looked like before I started this treatment. I hope it's working. I stopped taking the doxycycline because I didn't feel like it was necessary. I just can't wait to start seeing results! Hoping the initial breakout stays this mild.
  8. Morning: -IS Clinicals Cleansing Complex -Clindamycin Phosphate lotion 1% -ZO Medical Aknetrol 10% benzoyl peroxide -one pill of Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg Evening: -IS Clinicals Cleansing Complex -Adapalene Gel .1% -one pill of Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg
  9. Today is day four of my mild acne treatment using Clindamycin Phospahate lotion 1% and Adapalene gel .1%. I will be using these products along with 100mg Doxycycline twice a day. I consistently have stubborn clogged pores and small pimples on my forehead and around my mouth & chin. I'm getting cystic acne on my chin and forehead quite frequently as well. I have been using the clindamycin every morning and the adapalene gel every couple nights (im trying to ease myself into it). After alr
  10. My dermatologist said he would write me a prescription for Doxycycline but he said I would only be able to take it for a short amount of time. I'm wondering what everyone's experience is with Doxycycline? Was there a bad initial breakout? How long to see results? I have mild acne on my forehead and chin and occasional cystic acne usually around the time I get my period. Thanks!
  11. I recommend Bare Minerals. They're known for their powder foundations but they came out with a liquid too for more coverage. Try to use only the powder though for a daily foundation and use the liquid for nights out or special events. I like to cover up spots with concealer then apply the Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy powder all over. That stuff is amazing! The Blemish Remedy powder has great ingredients for acne. This site helps a lot too you can search the ingredients in whatever product you're
  12. Going on vacation with my boyfriend in less than a week and I got a medium sized pimple on my chin that I'm afraid won't go away in time. My question is does a pimple have to be cystic in order to get a cortisone shot or can a small amount be injected into a normal pimple to make it shrink fast? This pimple doesn't have a head but it's not as large or hard as cystic acne I usually get so I'm not sure if it classifies as cystic acne or not
  13. I got a cortisone shot for a cystic pimple on the side of my nose yesterday. After 24 hours, I noticed a small head on the cyst when I woke up and I tried to pop it but not much happened. It's still there and now I just hope I didn't ruin the effectiveness of the cortisone shot. Has anyone ever popped a pimple after getting an injection and did it still go away fast or did I mess up?
