  1. I didn't shave last time for 3 days, and that worked out fine. I think this time will be the same.
  2. Just had my second Fraxel 2 at 50 mj's, 4 passes (I don't know the rest of the settings. I just remember seeing that one). That was intense. It's not that painful when she is doing it, but it's really intense now 45 minutes later! My first one was November 22 and since then I have seen moderate changes. Mostly in skin tightening, and smoothing of shallower scars and lines. The deeper lines and scars from years ago aren't yet responding as much, other than taking on a rounded appearance. But give
  3. Mz, I wouldn't give up just yet. As you have probably heard, Fraxel treats aprox. 15-20% of the skin at one time. If you have only had two treatments that would mean only 30-40% coverage. The fact that you have already began to see subtle changes this early would indicate that you will likely get good results. I know it's difficult but please remember patience not desperation will lead you into making good choices and ultimately take you where you want to be. :) On another topic. I wasn't a
  4. Thanks for the info. I did not realize that. Given that it is not permanent, that's one reason I am pushing on with Fraxel and using Sculptra as a supplemental or backup plan. I am hoping for something a little more permanent.
  5. MZ, Your scarring and hers look similar to me from what I remember of your pictures. Every person heals differently, but there's good reason to think you will respond similarly. The only issue I have with these pictures is her after is red and looks swollen to me, and I wonder what it looked like later on. Does she have a newer picture? That would be interesting to see as well. -DreamersRage
  6. Thanks for the link and description. Sculptra is really expensive. Is that the price for 1 treatment? I'm kindda sad right now. My skin looks bad today, the escision scars looks wider now than before. I'm hoping that it level eventually. I'm hearing that there will be a tissue loss from excision and that it will not produce collagen. My surgical scar is similar to Billyboys. The 1000.00 is for a whole vial. Plus, my doc is in an affluent suburb of Atlanta, and I am sure it is overp

  8. MZ, I know this is the Fraxel thread, and I am down with it, so I hope I don't upset anyone with this. I just had my fraxel and am enjoying the redness and dry skin and swelling as much as anybody else. So please bear with me here... With regards to Sculptra, it's about 900.00-1000.00 dollars a vial (with my doc, anyway). Here is a link to how it works: Sculptra Like Fraxel, it doesn't work immediately, and it may not help icepick scars as much, except for the fact that it adds volume to th
  9. mz43026: I'm so glad to see your pictures! I am an Asian female with acne scars and am strongly considering Fraxel for treatment. I have run into the typical pigmentation limitations that the doctors say for even light-skinned Asians, like you and I. From your pictures, I believe I see improvement with regard to tightness and even tone, but I'm not sure how helpful this is since I'm not familiar with your pre-Fraxel scars. I'm not sure where you are getting treatment, but can you rec

  11. Thanks for the reply. That's a good point about the reduction of thermal injury. The gelpack is only on there for a few seconds before and after the area is done. Hopefully it doesn't have a negative effect. I can see how I probably sold it as "freezing" the skin before using the laser. I didn't do a good job of communicating that. I'll bring it up with the doc and see what she says. The cooling effect is definitely shortlived. The best part was that she focused on small areas and did all 4 pass
  12. I had my first fraxel 2 treatment yesterday. I've seen some posts about the pain people have experienced, and I wanted to share something with you all. I was worried about the pain involved I have a VERY low tolerance for pain on my face. Fast forward to yesterday. The doctor did not use a zimmer machine. They didn't need it. I don't know my exact settings but I have some pretty deep scarring so she was going to be very aggressive in her treatment. I think it was 40 mj. The point is, the te
