  1. Thank you for the reply! I'm not on spiro, but I've been watching the long spiro forum thread here for a bit. My prolactin levels were normal, but I'm wondering if I have PCOS... Hmm. I was given the option of taking additional (expensive!) tests to find out if I have PCOS or to go ahead with birth control/hormone pills -- I'll bring up spiro on my next visit! --- UPDATE: I have a prescription for Zovia (generic Demulen?) BC pills. I'm looking for more info on Zovia but haven't found much re

Hi log, Skin is breaking out like crazy. They're leaving red marks that never seem to go away. The spots on the right cheek have been spreading. I haven't had any food triggers, aside from the usual rice or noodles (though I am slowly phasing these out -- more quinoa please). I did have two small banana muffins today and a cornmeal muffin yesterday. I have a deadline coming up on this project I'm on, so I have been a bit stressed.. Hmm, cameras and lighting make my skin look really different.
  3. I graduated college last term, and I've been looking for a job. I see other people going off to these famous companies or their dream jobs while I'm still searching through Monster or HotJobs. I applied to a few programs and place, but there's a part of me who feels that I'm not taking a very active approach to this because I'm afraid of showing my face during the interview..

Hi log, A pretty prominent cyst on my left cheek appeared the other day. It's so red and pink and pencil-eraser sized. I have some sulfur-based acne gel in the fridge and that sometimes works on large cystic spots. So I dabbed some on yesterday. The spots on the right cheek went down but it's still red + purple-y. Chin is calming down, but the remnants of my acne flareup are there. I'm also getting sick.. Couldn't sleep last night because I kept coughing all night long. Managed to doze for a
  5. Well, here goes.. I haven't had a period in 5-6 months so I went to get a checkup today. They did their exams and all, then told me that if I wanted more regular periods, I could take birth control pills or some form of hormone replacement or just live with irregular periods. They wanted to wait for a prolactin test result sent over from a different place I had two years ago to see if that was normal (I didn't remember I had that test) before making any decisions. My thyroid levels are fairly no

Dear log, More zits on my chin. I think one is a small cyst. So I got the kale aojiru powder in the mail. I tried drinking it today, but could not down the stuff. YUCK. It tastes nothing like the green smoothies I make with fresh kale. I don't want to let it go to waste, so I think I'll use it in the smoothies rather than just mixing the powder with water/juice. My sister suggested I go on the pill to deal with my acne. I don't know which brands are good for this, and also I've read accounts
  7. Strawberries contain AHA so it should help with exfoliation.. Also, when I feel a cyst coming on, I put strawberry mixed with aspirin on it overnight. Next day it's flattened or shrunk or even disappeared. I've been using strawberries for a month or so now, but I don't see a real big fading of my red and brown marks. I think that you'd have to use 'em for a few months or more before you see any lightening effects. I don't mix it with glycerin or oil 'cuz that just clogs my pores. YMMV.

Hello personal regimen log. Hmm. Those two spots on my cheek turned into three spots and the redness/purpleness is about nickel-sized. My chin isn't peeling anymore, but I got some small zits in return. Whhhhyyy..... So far this week: I now wake up in the morning (8:30 or 9:00) and straight away make a mug of white tea. While tea is brewing, I brush my teeth and hop in the shower. I am still using the Purity cleanser, Proactiv toner and milky lotion. After all that, I dress, drink the tea and
  9. I like using berries in face masks: http://www.womanspassions.com/articles/519.html I take a frozen strawberry or two, chop it up and pack it onto my skin. Sometimes I leave it on overnight, or wash off after 20 minutes. It makes your skin smell really good and very soft.

Hi personal regimen log, here is an update. I broke out with lots of bumps due to work-related stress and holiday sweets. Luckily I had gone back home for a few days and got to use my sis' TTO products. I had also used 10% BP on the bumps every day. After a few days, the bumps subsided and also my chin started to peel. My skin hasn't peeled like that in quite awhile. Hmm, I still have two bumps on my right cheek that won't seem to go away. Right now I have aspirin and strawberry pulp on my ch

Yup, I think the key is eating in moderation. No binging on ice cream or cheese! I was talking with my mom about my skin, and whether acne was hereditary came up (which I know it's not). My mom had moderate acne in her teens, but it cleared up once she hit her 20s. She has icepick scars. My dad had mild acne, no scars. My brother has had bad acne and scarring (icepick scars, hypertrophic scars, some rolling) and has been on accutane, retin-a micro, tried naturopathy, microdermabrasion, etc. He

For the good bacteria! Yogurt helps my digestion and it is also handy to have around for facial masks. I don't eat yogurt everyday/everymeal, more like 1/3 cup twice/thrice a week. As long as I eat in moderation, I don't think it should be an issue...

Here's an update. I've been doing okay with my food. Stayed away from chocolate and caffeine, aside from one cup before my last final exam the previous week. I haven't had any cheese or milk, only organic plain yogurt. I cut back on the baking soda and aspirin masks, it was making my face really dry. I was afraid that I'd use up all of my FANCL lotion. Went back on the triphala this week - no weird feelings/stuff happening so far, so maybe it was something I ate that first time I tried tripha

Thanksgiving weekend wasn't good to my face. I had the family dinners and all, and I did my best to stay away from junk food. [attachmentid=6907] This week my meals have been simlar to: Lunch - 1 granola bar - 1 Cliff Nectar bar - Ritz crackers/cashews/pretzel mix Dinner - Smoothie or vegetable soup - Flat bread - Yogurt I stopped the triphala for now because it was giving some weird feelings and strange dreams (or it may have been something I ate). I'm still taking the multivitamin. I stop
