  1. Hiya, im 20 and have had on/off moderate acne for about 3 years. It always seems to be better in summer and worse in winter. It started getting cold about 3 weeks ago, and since then my acnes got much worse. Mainly forehead, and cheek/jaw acne, that come as deep lumps and form heads; which then take forever to disappear. Also a lot of acne bear the sideburns area. I use cetaphil cleanser, benzoyl peroxide, and an oil free moisturiser but nothing's helping, as you can see from the pictures
  2. Hi there, Ive been on antibiotics for about 4 months, and whilst my cheekand jaw cystic acne has cleared i got a breakout on my forehead about 2 months ago. Ive never had forehead acne before so it was very sudden, and now it just stays there and doesnt change. Can somebody help with an explanatiom or solutiom please? Much appreciated
  3. Hi guys, im 19, and just run out of the Clinique anti blemish cleanser, which did nothing for my skin alert from drying it out. So I'd like some advice on the best regimen for my skin - maybe what works well for you? My acne is hormonal, with nodules and cysts, leaving PIH, and red marks (some cysts/ marks are still visible after over 6 months!) been looking into cetaphil cleanser, and tea tree based products from the body shop. Unfortunately the Acne.org regimen isn't a choice as I live
  4. Cheers for the feedback appley and kiwi. I'll finish the course of my antibiotics and discuss with my GP the next step. As for dairy, it's almost completely out of my diet already (family has bad acne) so it's not really around in the house. But I'll tighten up on that and see if it makes a difference Thanks for the comments x
  5. Hi guys, im 19, and since about May I've had cystic acne that's progressively getting worse. All over my jaw and cheeks I have tiny white bumps (looks kind of like milia) that will over time get red, inflamed, enlarge and after a month either go back to the original state, or leave really bad red marks. I've had cysts on my jaw and cheeks that have been there for over 6 months, and they're extremely unattractive. Aswell as this my red marks don't fade AT ALL. Im currently on lymecycline f
  6. Hi guys, im 19 and for the past few years I've had mild acne. Yet since August it's worsened to cystic acne. At the moment I have quite a lot of hyperpigmentation, as well as mild cysts on my cheeks and jawline especially. I've been on differin and lymecycline for 1 week, and I can already feel an IB. All the small cysts and blind pimples on my cheeks are slowly brewing which I am dreading. In 2 months times I'm going to Asia for 3 months. And I've heard after 2 months on differin you shou
  7. I've been on zineryt for about a month and a half now and it seems my acne is getting worse. The "front" of my face such as the t-zone, chin, and forehead have cleared well. However I'm getting more and more cysts and spots on my jawline and cheeks. Aswell as permenant blemishes and redness in the same areas. I've included pictures. Should I consider going back to the dermatologist?
  8. Just been to my GP and she's prescribed me zineryt lotion - a zinc based antibiotic product to use after cleansing twice a day. Fingers cross and I'll let you know how it goes
  9. im contemplating going to my local gp in the next few days. But I feel that's the only option left, as I already take zinc, vitamin C, and other supplements. Along with cutting out dairy, and drinking more than 3 litres of water and green tea a day. Do you have any idea on what the derm can do to help? thank you! It's mainly painful cysts, that aren't open, along with smaller cysts that have gone down a bit but have dried over the top due to the benzol peroxide (I
  10. What do you mean by that? My routine is to cleanse, tone, apply topical treatment, then moisturise. Other than that I'm not sure what else I could do? thanks
  11. I'm 19 and for the last 4 months I've had the same cystic acne on my cheeks and jaw. No new ones, just the same permenant marks - not healing but just sitting there doing nothing My Tzone and other areas are generally good it's just these parts which are terrible. Benzoyl peroxide, tea tree oil, sudocreme, toothpaste, have all done nothing. My acne affects me greatly in terms of being social, I'll stay in because of the fear of my acne being judged. And when I do go out I try to cover
