  1. Finished month 3! Two more months to go! I had elevated cholesterol levels so I had to make some medication for that. I'm taking fish oil prior to taking the pills for better absorption. I'm using dry oatmeal and a mild wash wash to exfoliate my dry skin and that seems to be working well for the flaking. Month 4 complete! Side effects still there, especially lips...flaking is pretty much gone and joint aches are minimal if pills are spaced out ..one more month to go!
  2. Ask your doctor to do a low dose accutane regime and tell him that you're worried about the side effects ...he will adjust the dosage so our body can adjust to it slowly ...good luck
  3. Consult your doctor about doing the laser treatment this summer...they want you to wait at least 6 months to a year after your accutane treatment for any laser treatments for scarring. The hyper pigmentation will fade over time

  5. 40 here and next month I'll be in the 41+ club ...4 more days then I'm into my 4th month.
  6. Products that are a must have... 1. CereVe foaming mild face wash 2. Lip balm 3. Dove dry skin moisturiser 4. Body lotion 5. Saline Nasal Spray 6. Wash clothes to exfoliate 7. Eye drops lubricant you will experience joint and back pain and in my 3rd month on this the balls of my feet ached. Diet-wise you're supposed to take your pills with a highest fat meal of the day. I had to take cholesterol medication into my 3rd month and I
  7. I would say you are a good candidate for accutane..I wished I had taken accutane awhile ago but my stubbornness got the best of me. The temporary discomforts outweighs the results and I'm confident your type of acne will see improvement within 2 months...don't worry about the initial breakouts..something you can't really control just focus on the end results and stay positive!
  8. just finished month 2! Had a few breakouts and having some discoloration around my cheeks but overall I'm happy with the results in the last two months. Good luck in your journey!
  9. Adult acne is definitely on the rise. I had clear skin from 2001 (after college) until 2009. Since then it was on and off but has gotten worse in the last 6 years. Interestingly I had a dog and my cat since then...any relationship between allergies and acne breakouts?
  10. Thank you! good luck in your journey it's well worth it! I'm on my 42nd day today and feeling good about the results so far, my next months check up will be in a little more than a few weeks. It's working a lot faster than I thought which I'm extremely happy about!
  11. Hi I'm a 40 year old male and I started breaking out after getting married (marriage is stressful I guess! Lol). I started taking Amnesteem on Sept 9th original dose of 40mg and I got the side effects around day 3. During the month I experienced a few breakouts but nothing normal as I've been dealing with acne for awhile now. The first pic is what I looked like in the beginning of treatment, red bumpy skin with active acne. Accutane made my skin sensitive to sunlight, even going out for 15
  12. A fair amount of people who are on Accutane still "purge" even after several months. In all the posts I've read, people kept on plugging away and eventually their acne improved. Stick with it and you will see results.
