  1. So quick backstory, I am 14 and I've had acne for a few years now. It was at it's worse last winter and has calmed down a lot since then but I still have scars and pigmentation problems along with the occasional fresh breakout. Most of my acne is just on my cheeks. I started breaking out a bit on my chest, though. That's kind of alarming to me because I've never had acne there. I've tried every medication, topical treatment, antibiotic, laser treatment, and acne peel. I've been through numerous
  2. it could be, you may want to get another one.
  3. Try sleeping on your back if you can. Or sleep with your clear cheek on the pillow. That might help. It doesn't look like your acne is that bad, so don't worry too much. Try steering away from harsh chemicals and hot water, those things can irritate your skin.
  4. Have you considered getting your hormones checked out? There may be a problem with them. You can go on the pill if this truly bothers you. I also find that cold water helps with inflammation, so rinsing your face with it may help with the redness.
  5. Interesting, the cold water was just a change from my really hot showers. I saw a lot of improvement but I think it's because I cut out my bad habit. Also makes it easier to get out of the shower since I don't like being in it as much.
  6. I took my first water only shower last night. It turned out being a cheat day from my cold water routine so it was lukewarm and lasted a bit longer than usual, but that's ok. Felt great when I got out My skin looks a lot better than usual this morning. My scars continue to fade and so is the breakout on my jawline. The pimple on my forehead looks better as well. I noticed that some of the scars on my cheeks are getting smaller instead of fading. I assume that's a good thing. Feeling a
  7. I agree, maybe foundation might not be the best fit after all. Especially if you wear a beard, it will be noticeable.
  8. Hey, I actually just wrote about some foundations I've used (Look at my topic Best&Worst for acne). There's one really natural looking one called Teint Idole by Lancome. Its a bit expensive but its the only one that would look really natural for a guy. I have acne scars, also on my cheeks/jawline and it's true that they take FOREVER to fade. I've had them for months (I'm pretty sure proactiv is what caused them to be so bad because it literally burnt my skin >.<) and they've only faded
  9. Just a collection of some of the best and worst products I've tried. I've had acne for about a year, it was the worst around December 2014 - February 2015. I now deal with scarring. So no matter the severity of your acne, I hope this post will guide you through which products to use and which ones to avoid. *These are just my opinions, these products will work differently depending on your skin type* Foundations: Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer Full coverage foundation, good
  10. Today I am going to start washing with water only. I have already lowered the temperature and lengths of my showers, and I have seen lots of improvement already. Last night I washed my face gently in the shower with my CeraVe cleanser. The product does not seem to be irritating my skin but I want to see if cutting out all cleansers/topicals will improve my skin even more. In addition, I have also been eating less dairy and gluten. I switched over to almond milk and I am trying to eat more glu
  11. Did you really just clean with water? I have similar acne not quite as bad as the picture but theres still a lot. I don't use any harsh chemicals or cleansers targeted towards acne but I use CeraVe which is more of a general cleanser (it's very gentle for my skin) do you think thats good for me? It seems to be working but im not sure. Yeah, I just cleaned my face once a day with water without touching or scrubbing my face. I just let water run down my face in the shower. I've been washing with
  12. I'm torn between whether to take hot or cold showers to help my acne. (I have acne scars mostly on my cheeks, along with a few zits from a recent breakout.) A few people suggested that maybe I should change the temperature that I shower at, as that could be affecting my skin (especially since I took VERY long hot showers). So for about a week I have been taking short, cold showers, because I heard that it has many benefits for your skin and otherwise. I can see a little bit of improvement bu
  13. I wish I knew this when I had really dry skin! I use the same Clinique moisturizer and I love it

  15. Something you could try is a good foundation, if you really want to cover it with makeup. But if its not that severe and you just want to fix the redness a bit, try rinsing your face with very cold water for a few seconds in the sink or after a shower. It doesn't do much but it usually makes my skin look a little better.
