After almost two decades of relentless moderate-severe (mostly severe) face, neck, chest, and back acne, I finally started to make the holistic connection about five years ago. Since then, I have become a dedicated student of integrative and functional medicine in order to heal my body and mind from the inside-out. I am now studying holistic nutrition and functional diagnostics and working towards my board certification as a practitioner.

The best thing I ever did was fire my dermatologist and refuse to ever set foot back in the office of one as long as I lived (spits). I no longer trust ANY doctors without extensive training in integrative and functional medicine. While few and far between, there are Integrative Dermatologists out there. They have the education, training, and motivation to practice the kind of holistic, investigative treatment approaches that your money and skin deserve, rather than regurgitating the same, tired, mostly unsuccessful chemical prescriptions over and over again that empty your bank account and only make your skin worse in the long-run.

Not only has the regimen below cleared my skin 100%, but it has also ridded me of leaky gut, endometriosis, chronic migraines, candida and fungal overgrowth, depression/anxiety, insomnia, heart palpitations, tooth decay, signs of premature aging, and adrenal fatigue. 

Specific fields of interest: Microbiomics (including parasitology, mold, and biofilms); Autoimmune Disease; Gut/Brain/Skin Axis; Nutritional Psychology; and Functional Lab Diagnostics.

Acne is almost never JUST acne. The body is a machine--if one screw is loose, you can be sure others are too. 


 

DIET

  • NO refined sugar 
  • NO A1 dairy or derivatives (and only raw A2 dairy)
  • NO artificial sweeteners (only natural sweeteners like Monk Fruit Extract or Stevia)
  • NO yeast (with the exception of S. boulardii)
  • NO soy or soy derivatives from North America
  • NO corn or corn derivatives from North America
  • NO seed oils (with the exception of Hemp)
  • NO gluten
  • NO nitrates/nitrites/sulfates
  • NO smoked/cured/corned/aged foods or beverages 
  • NO GMOs; no preservatives, antibiotics or hormones in my meat, eggs, or dairy
  • Minimum phytoestrogens
  • Minimum citrus fruit (lime and fresh lemon is fine)
  • Minimum canned food
  • Minimum sea vegetables 
  • Minimum nightshade vegetables
  • Minimum alcohol (only vodka or gin, 2-3 servings a week tops)
  • Minimum Omega 6/ Moderate Omega 9/Heavy Omega 3
 
  • KITCHEN STAPLES: greens (mostly kale and swiss chard); rainbow fruits and veg; avocados; fresh herbs; mexican papaya and dried papaya seeds; wild-caught fatty fish; organic skinless chicken; apple cider vinegar; raw garlic; leeks; beetroot; raw green juice; coconut cream; bulletproof coffee; fresh ginger root and thyme leaf tea; bone broth; sauerkraut and kimchi; boiled cranberries; sweet potatoes; sprouted quinoa and buckwheat breads and cereals; pumpkin and pumpkin seeds; chia protein smoothies; food-sourced inulin; green tea; goji berries; unrefined virgin coconut oil and fresh EVOO; almond and coconut flour; unsweetened shredded coconut; pure aloe vera juice;  whole pastured egg yolks; raw goat and sheep's milk; pink himalayan salt and celtic sea salt; monk fruit extract; turmeric; cloves; cinnamon; licorice
 
  • Fast-mimicking once a month (lasting 3-4 days). 
  • 1-3 liters of purified water a day
