I've used both the Effaclar foaming gel and the Effaclar K fluid. The cleanser dried my skin out, although initially, it is quite nice to use. The Effaclar K didn't have much impact on my skin, didn't make it better, but also didn't make it worse. However, the thing that really turned me off was the strong smell of the Effaclar line. I just can't stand it.

Yes! I used jojoba oil back when I was clear and would only get 1 pimple or so a year. Within two weeks, I had myriad little clogged pores and several pimples. I also only used a couple of drops. Meh...It works for some and doesn't for others.

My experience with Retin-A was that it made my acne worse. Two weeks after starting using it I started breaking out a lot more than usual. I assumed it was an initial breakout and that it would eventually stop. Fast forward three months later and my face was awful. I stopped using it and within a week, my breakouts diminished in frequency and quantity.

I have been taking Accutane for about a month and a half now. I'm on a low dose of 20 mg/day. I'm more or less clear but still have redmarks. I feel the same as everyone else. The cream moisturizes very well and little goes a long way. I found the lotion too greasy and I felt like it just sat on top of my skin instead of being absorbed.

Tyguy - I live in Ottawa so it might be different in Toronto, but I was able to find Canus at Loblaws as well.

I e-mailed Indigo Wild (the makers of Zum soap) asking that question and they responded that currently, there are no retailers that sell their soaps in Canada.
