How to get rid of acne scars

Woah, hold on there, you've JUST come off accutane - you need to wait at least 6 months before you do anything like that. Do NOT use lemon - that will make your skin extremely sensitive to sunlight and what not and could actually make it worse if you're not careful. Unfortunately, you need to be patient because accutane is still in your system and I know this is not what you want to hear but it's the truth. The redness will go away in around a month or two and the marks will begin to fade quit
  3. Finally! Someone who knows the difference between Post Inflammatory Hyper-pigmentation and Post Inflammatory Erythema! You're so right, red marks cannot be rubbed off the skin by the use of scrubs and chemical exfoliation unless they're hyperpigmentation. Erythema are the blood vessels - I'm still trying to find an effective way to get rid of it and would LOVE some guidance because I also thought I had hyperpigmentation but if you try the blanch test guys (hold something CLEAN that is clear, som
  4. Hi guys, It's only been about 6 months that I've been off Accutane but I'm going for a consultation soon and I'd like to get some other people's opinions on my skin. I'm pretty certain I have Post Inflammatory Eytherma but I'm not 100%. Looking at my gross photo (sorry about the quality), what do you think would help the most and how much longer will these take to heal? Also, I've got a semi-hard lump underneith one of the red marks but my face is completely flat and it's been there for ov

    'Non-comedogenic' my ass!

Yeah, I feel kinda obsessive sometimes though and I tend not to share my weird habits with "normal" people but I guess, what's normal anyways?! Its no problem, I really do hope it helps some people out there, if you want some recommendations about 100% NON COMEDOGENIC products haha, I'm currently using the "Super Facialist By Una Freeman (the salicylic acid one in the white bottle) and it's working great although it is slightly drying and then I use Lush's serum bar (I forget the name now, the
  6. Hi everyone, I'm making this post to generally get something off my chest and to just vent really. In late 2015, I had a massive breakout due to a type of birth control I was on at the time and I began taking accutane, I only realised that my birth control was making my skin go crazy at about the 4 month mark and stopped it immediately. I know you're supposed to be on birth control on accutane but I took this risk and just didn't have any at all - they're not as strict as they should be wit

Ayyyyyyyyy Scars ain't what I'm about lmao

That's awesome, I'm super happy for you! I'm actually really considering trying this once my skin heals a bit more because I did only just come off Accutane in January so it hasn't been too long since - I hope your skin keeps improving! I'll add a recent photo of my red marks in a minute just to give you an idea of what I'm working with currently! :D These are my most recent skin photos - one with flash and one without in natural lighting.

So would you recommend it? What brand are you using? I'm quite interested now but I've done some research and everyone says not to put it on your face which is quite scary! Please be safe.

Ayyyyyyyyy Scars ain't what I'm about lmao

Hey there, Thanks for your replies guys and yeah I used the silicone sheets for a little while but didn't really stick to it because they were far too sticky and when I would take them off they'd leave a big fat red mark off where the sheet was and makeup wouldn't even hide it, my boyfriend said it looked like I had god damn pepperoni on my face, I've tried to make them less sticky but it still doesn't do much. Ive done a lot of research and I've heard of that cream but never really knew wh
  10. Hey guys, Was wondering when your Post Inflammatory Erythema faded? These are the red marks you get after acne/trauma and will disappear when they are pressed and then come back when they aren't being pressed, so annoying man! (Victims of PIH are normally people with darker complexions and the marks are usually brown and PIE is red/purple) Just wanted some more information, there's a dude on here called 'bio_nerd' and he has loads of information about it on his profile but he hasn't been a

    Progress? Perhaps?

Oh really? I'm glad it's working, even if it is slow. Do you notice your marks fading at all?
  12. Hello everybody! Just wanted to give people an update and maybe even some hope for you Accutane users out there who are still not seeing progress, it takes time and when I say time, I mean quite a lot of time and patience, four months in and I'm not completely clear yet. YET. I just wanted to share my progress with you all and maybe get some feedback? Currently I'm using UV Clear 46 SPF which has nicamide (sorry for spelling) in it and I'm wondering if the marks that I have will completely fad

Accutane is breaking me out really bad!

Hi! I just want you to know, I've been on Accutane for almost 4 months now and it does get better but it will become worse before hand and it is very tough but you just have to keep going through everyday and keep treating your skin gently. This drug has a 6 month course for a reason - your body is doing the normal things by reacting to the drug. I know it sucks ass and all you wanna do is cry and rip your face off but what I would do and as horrible as it sounds, avoid mirrors at all costs. Ju

    Depression

Thank you so much for the replies everyone! Honestly can't thank you enough. Liz, yeah I do use makeup but I honestly hate it and it takes up so much of my time so I prefer to go bear faced. Anthony, thanks so much for the encouragement! Really makes me want to keep pushing on. Jbird, yeah they are really weird and it's weird how some peoples fade much faster than others because I've watched various you tubers with much worse skin than I that have seriously completely cleared like HumerusFit
