  1. If anyone was wondering, I stopped minocycline and was clear for like 8 months and then acne slowly started to come back, but it's not super bad! It's definitely not what it was before at least. Its just I get randomly breakouts like 4 big pimples but they go away and I can stay clear for a while!!
  2. So I keep going all clear and then randomly I'll get like 3 huge ugly red pimples with the white center and I can't seem to find the cause of this. Today I put some concealer on my current pimples and another pimple showed up right by it when I got home, so could it be the concealer? I'm going to try either switching concealers or just not using a concealer for a while and seeing what happens. But I got the original pimples before putting on makeup for like a week so not sure what caused those :

Okay so I was perfectly clear for about 6 months just using a benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin mix with ceptaphil face wash, but now all of the sudden I'm breaking out again and I don't know what to do at this point. Going to go back to the dermatologist soon and see what they say.
  4. okay so I've been using this mix for about 6 months now. In the first month I had dryness and peeling but after that it went away. Now 5 months later it has started again! And I have no clue why. I recently switched moisturizers from my beloved fruit of the earth vitamin e cream (it was breaking me out) to cerave cream for dry skin. Could that be why? My skin isn't getting enough moisture? If so could you leave some suggestions for moisturizers or creams that are nice to VERY acne prone skin and
  5. Okay so my skin has been going insane and idk what's wrong with it. I'm 14 years old, and I recently got rid of my acne, but I'm stopping minocycline so I know it will come back soon. That's not what I'm asking though. My skin has felt disgusting lately. It's so dry, rough, and looks unhealthy. My skin itches constantly in random spots and sometimes I'll even getting a burning sensation in my skin. I've also been developing tons of white heads. Has anyone had this before? Does anyone know what t

  7. okay so I got sunburned today pretty badly on my face. Yes I used sunscreen and reapplied it every hour (spf 30). The burn is only my nose and both of my cheeks. My face is just really sensitive because of the topicals I've been using. I'm using duac (5% benzoyl peroxide and 1% clindamycin) and I wash my face every morning and night with the cetaphil gentle cleanser and use a cetaphil moisturizing cream. How do I go about this? Do I still gently wash my face and apply the duac to where I don't h
  8. I have been feeling stressed and worried lately so it's probably anxiety :/ don't really know how to fix my anxiety but oh well.
  9. So I use that mixture for my face too. My doctor told me to mix them together after washing my face and spread it all over my face. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then put moisturizer on. Don't wash it off after putting it on. At least that's what they told me.
  10. well after that do you just stop taking it completely? I feel as if taking one pill every other day would just help to ease your body off the medicine, instead of a sudden drop of just not taking the dose all together. The idea does seem logical though. I'm also trying to get off of mino. So I'd like to hear your experience getting off of that if your willing to share?
  11. Okay so basically for the past week or so ive been getting this tingly feeling in my face. Nothing happens, I haven't broken out or anything yet ((atm I'm basically clear)) but idk what it is. It's just like this weird funny tingly feeling in random parts of my face. It started randomly too, well actually I did switch moisturizers recently, but I mean I switched from a greasy moisturizer to a non cosmegenic cream, so I don't think that would be a problem. Has anyone had this before or possibly k
  12. I don't know if it's the acne or just me (sometimes I get like this) but I've just been feeling really down and worried. For my skin I used to be depressed over my red marks, but just decided to deal with them because they will fade away eventually and I don't really care about what most people in my school think anyways. Just hoping everything will be alright with my skin before college. My skins been doing amazing these past couple months, perfectly clear, apart from two white heads and the re

That's great, I'm glad things are working out for you! This will be my first time trying to get off the antibiotics, so i'm hoping it goes well. My dermatologist kinda sucks, but he's the best in the area, so he's not really an option to tell me whats causing my acne. I do think it's hormones and just going through puberty, since I am a teenager. I really want to be done with all antibiotics, so unless my acne gets uncontrollable I don't want to take pills of any sort, and honestly I doubt my mo
  14. Hi - this probably isn't what you want to hear, but it sounds like you have pretty typical teenage acne which comes as a result of hormonal changes in puberty. There is some suggestion of a genetic component, in that people with relatives who had/have teenage acne are more likely to see breakouts as well. Since you are clear now (congrats!), you can definitely ease up on the antibiotics. Continue your topical however, that will help mantain your complexion. Unfortunately, there is the risk th
  15. Okay so basically I want to know your guys opinion on why I have acne or things I could do to figure out the cause of my acne. I figure if I figure that out then I can work on getting rid of it. So I'm 14 years old and have had acne since I was 12. I got it right around the time I first started my period (No clue if that has anything to do with it). It started with just one pimple every once in a while, but it would be gigantic and being my stupid self, I would pop them. My acne slowly started i
