  1. No problems I'm relatively new as well Definitely see your derm but I suspect its just a really bad initial breakout. Sadly the only way to deal with an IB is to just wait it out.
  2. Hi, I just started spiro and am having the same problems. I am so so so exhausted. Have the side effects gotten any better for you?
  3. Hi, When I took accutane I found it really helped with my hyperpigementation and bizarrely also my pitted scarring. I'm sure you know how accutane works but to remind you, it just basically causes your skin to exfoliate itself. As a result you lose those layers of skin where you have hyper pigmentation. If you are break out free at the moment I would suggest maybe an acid peel of some sort (such as liquid gold by alpha-h). They also help with hyper pigmentation and are a lot less serious than ac
  4. Hi, I have to be honest both times I have been on accutane (1st course - 40mg, 2nd course - 20mg) I did not suffer from an initial break out but perhaps that is what you're going through. When my acne was really severe I was prescribed prednisolone alongside accutane for about a week.
  5. Thank for your reply. I actually already went on a course of accutane in my teens, however, my accutane came back after 5 years. This is what make me question going on another course, there is always a chance that it isn't a cure, and that it will just come back again after 5 years. That being said spiro isn't a cure either, and once you go off it, your acne will return... It's hard weighing up the options. Anyone else have any opinions?
  6. Dear Acne.org members, I've been lucky enough to only have positive experiences here on the forum, I hope this post will be treated in the same way. Basically, I have just started spiro (about a week in) after a short stint with accutane (had to be taken off due to raised liver enzymes). I was given the option by my derm to either try spiro or go back on accutane at a lower does, I've never tried spiro before so I thought I'd give it a go. Since starting spiro just under a week ago (I'm on 1
  7. Thank you so much for your replies and your support I really appreciate it Oh gosh acne has been a ten year struggle for me. Over the past decade I've tried everything: - Antibiotics (minocycline, doxycycline, tetracycline) - Topicals (Clindamycin, Retin-A, Differin 0.1%, Differin 0.3%, salicylic acid, Benzac) - BCP (Yas, Yasmine, Diane-35) - Accutane - Chemical peels I have an an allergy to benzac so I have always avoided it. I am thinking about spiro because I think my acne may be h
  8. Hi everyone! This is my first time posting. I was hoping to get some advice on my accutane situation. In short I have suffered from cystic acne for around ten years. When I was 16 I went on my first course of accutane with no problems. My skin was clear and balanced for around 4 years. However, for the past year my acne has returned. I went to see a derm who put me back of accutane. HERE comes the problem.... My derm is taking me off accutane after just a month because my cholesterol an
