  1. Ok, I feel the need to step in. Firstly! You're on the right track with Bragg ACV--however, i would strongly advise you not to take it as a shot. The more correct way to do it is mix about 4 tablespoons with 1 cup of water and stir. Drink it with a straw, to minimize tooth enamel damage from the acid.
  2. Hi Guys, I need some advice. Here's a little bit of background: When I first began coming here during the CSR days, I had been suffering from acne for several years. Finally, after a lot of prodding from my fellow .ORG members, I made an appointment with a dermatologist I could trust. After my visit, I went home with a few prescriptions for topical gels and oral antibiotics. For 8 months, my skin cleared up beautifully. Once it was stable, I decided to go off my prescriptions and start my own r
  3. the demodex scare has come and gone, nothing much to say about it.
  4. Well, sure, I always wash my face after shampooing, lol. I was sort of disinterested in trying burts bees products mainly because the face care products they carry are very alkaline, and damage the skin. Plus the shampoo contains sugar, and sugar promotes bacterial growth, which means it might not be so good after all. I also use Giovanni 50-50, which is amazing, like you said tdot. I've been clear for 4 months now, so I dont have to worry so much anymore, but anyone who needs advice here please
  5. Well, it's been a long time since I made this thread. However, for many months, I've been using Sodium Lauryl Sulfate free shampoos and I've had no breakouts along my hairline anymore. Currently I use J/A/S/O/N Organics BIOTIN Complex Shampoo. It's great, but I want to try Burts Bees.
  6. Yes, that is a tumor surrounded by immense amounts of pus. No, it's not fake, and it's not a pimple. It's kinda gross though..
  7. yep, all the seasoned members are pretty well aware of the fucking bullshit that goes on within the Proactiv company.
  8. For some reason, I've started to break out on my jaw line again...I think it might have been all the peanut butter I've been eating lately..I have no idea. I'm going back to the derm for another course of antibiotics, because I've been clear for 5 months already and I'm not going back to acne. Any advice?
  9. Complex 15 is the bomb. I've been using it for 2 months now, GOOD STUFF!
  10. even if they are comedogenic doesn't mean they'll cause acne. I use complex 15 every day, and I use A LOT, and it has NEVER caused me to break out.
  11. You're looking at one of those people. I've been on the Duac/Differin combo since November, 2006. My skin is pretty much flawless, now.
  12. This is very good. Barbabas knows what he's talking about. Although I would not use this mainly because I have a very oily complexion as it is, olive oil has the same pH as human skin, making it perfect to use. Not too acid or alkaline, to quote the 3 bears, it's JUST RIGHT.
  13. Dan has had this site up and running for many years, plenty of time for any red marks to fade. He specifically says that he's been using his regimen since the 90s even, way before he decided to share it with us. Please do be considerate, he made this site what it is today.
  14. I am a smoker, I smoke close to a pack every day, and I am clear as a bell. I see no correlation at all.
  15. Duac contains clindamycin, a topical antibiotic. This kills the bacteria that is causing your acne, with the benefit fo 5% benzoyl peroxide.
  16. I tried that stuff back in the day, it really is full of shit. Quackery, nothing more than snake oil.
  17. Yeah, ProActiv is generally regarded as, excuse my language, pretty shitty. I wouldn't use that stuff in a million years. I think you would be better off with a step program from Paula's Choice, I've used their products before and they are very good, but currently I am on a derm prescribed regimen and I am 100% clear. I'd do some poking around in the forums until you find a regimen that works best for you. Plus, you can always try the DKR regimen.
  18. By all means, get the Duac. Don't listen to the bad reviews! I fork over $120 to buy Duac every month, and I never regret it. Please try the Duac, you never know how it will affect you until you try it.
  19. Just forget it, man. Even if it was a cure, why would you want to piss on your face in order to get clear skin. I'd rather have acne than piss all over my face. yuck
  20. I am here to save the day! You are looking at the Acne.org Fluoride/Sodium Lauryl Sulfate Acne Correlation expert! I did some in depth studying on the subject, and decided to switch to a fluoride free toothpaste. I would not recommend toms of maine, because it's hard to find one that doesn't have fluoride in it, and they are all made with SLS. However, the toothpaste I use is J/A/S/O/N Organics PowerSmile toothpaste. It's fluoride free, and SLS free, and contains organic whiteners to gently and
  21. I would reccomend any AHA product from Paula's Choice or MD Forte, they make some very good glycolic lotions and cleansers. Hope I could help
  22. I would do it right before bed, no reason to worry about it. As long as your face is dry, and not still sticky with the gel, it should be absorbed
  23. It may actually help with heart burn, if you're concerned. I have been a big follower of the Bragg's for some time now, and Patricia Bragg says that apple cider vinegar can help with heart burn.
  24. I sleep on my side every night, I just make sure to change my pillow case every night, I keep three clean ones handy and then wash them again. I also wash my pillow every week or so, and I dont notice a difference. I actually had more acne on the side I didn't sleep on than the side I did. Weird..but I always wake up with drool caked onto my face..ick.
