  1. Last year I went away for 5 days and forgot to take my Niacin with me. On the way to the airport I was like, ohhh nooo! When I returned I had a nice big fat spot on my cheek that lingered around for a week or so, the likes of which I hadn't seen since taking Niacin. I do still get the occasional small spot but nothing like the regular big one that often plagued me. No taking it for the team at the moment I'm afraid. I've suffered too long with this.
  2. For starters, everyone is different so one thing that works for one person might not work for another. I've now been taking No-Flush Niacin 500mg (Inositol Hexanicotinate) for one and a half years. I also take Zinc 50mg (as Citrate) sometimes. I don't know why or how it works but at the time I started taking it my mild acne finally eased up (after many years - I'm a 29 year old male). I daren't stop now to find out if my acne time was up anyway but I reckon Niacin is playing a part.
  3. I'd recommend Niacin. Look at my previous posts for more information about it. Obliviously everyone is different, as are the causes of acne, but it works for me.
  4. Niacin was my magic cure No-Flush Niacin 500mg (Inositol Hexanicotinate) Hope it helps.
  5. ok, Im taking this form as well. When do you take it and is it with meal, right before meal, or on an empty stomach?? I take it right before a meal although that's basically the same as taking it with the meal because the stomach juices won't have broken down the capsule in that time anyway. Hope it works for you. I also take 50mg of zinc with another meal, not sure if this makes any difference though.
  6. Just to add my experience: I've been taking No-Flush Niacin - Inositol Hexanicotinate for around 5 months and it's working, totally clear at the moment.
  7. Been taking it for 5 months now, still get the odd spot but Niacin seems to have made a difference. I also started taking Zinc at around the same time. See my previous posts for more info.
  8. So what was the dosage? I've been taking No-Flush Niacin (Inositol Hexanicotinate) 500mg for over 5 months and noticed a definite improvement. Everything in my original post still applies: http://www.acne.org/messageboard/ACNE-CURE...49#entry2728349 :) I've no solid idea of how it works but it seems to be doing something. My only slight concern is my alcohol intake and the combined effect on my liver. I never drink within several hours of taking Niacin.
  9. I've been taking Solgar No-Flush Niacin 500mg Vegicaps (Inositol Hexanicotinate) for about two months now. I haven't been this consistently clear since I was on roacutane. I thought I started seeing results immediately but about a week after I started taking niacin I also started taking Zinc 50mg (as Citrate) so that might be having an effect as well. I take the Niacin with lunch and the Zinc with dinner, or the other way around. I still get a spot here and there but there's definitely somethi

Yeah, the worst breakout I've had for years was when I ate a slice of chocolate cake each day for a week. It was very nice cake but unfortunately there was a clear connection. No more chocolate for me. I still haven't made a clear connection between sugar and breakouts but just as a precaution I try my best to minimize my intake of refined sugar.
  11. Sounds interesting, thanks for the info. I was in the mood for a silver bullet so I ordered some 500mg Solgar No-Flush Niacin capsules. I'll let ya know things go.
  12. I've got to say I've seen similar results to crisis54. Abstaining from masturbating doesn't totally clear me up but it does help. (I'm a 27 year old male) Let us know how you get on crisis54.
  13. I'm a 26 year old male and yes I think I've noticed a correlation between masturbation and acne. It's not the only cause for my acne but it seems to aggravate it. If I stop for one to three weeks I can almost get clear. Found it quite hard to stop at first but trust me, it get's a lot easier. Before we have another "Yes it does", "No it doesn't" thread I'd like to say that it won't necessarily work for everyone. One thing that's glaringly obvious from reading these forums is that people get ac
  14. Thanks for these tips Danny. Myself and I'm sure many others really appreciate the effort you put into this forum
  15. I'm glad it's working for you. I've always wanted to do something like this, it's just dairy and carbs etc are such a part of my diet. I live on pasta and bread. Also my culinary skill are pretty poor.
