    Upping Spiro dosage

Hi everyone, I have been on 50mg once a day since April of 2016. It seriously worked like a miracle from April 2016 to June 2017. The past couple of months I have been breaking out inconsistently. Sometimes multiple breakouts a day, sometimes once a week. My dermatologist suggested upping my dosage to 50mg twice a day (so 100mg total) and she thinks that will get my skin back in order. When I first started last April I was breaking out a little more but the acne would show up and go away in
  2. How long have you been on spiro? And did you just stop taking the accutane. Did it help? How long have you been on spiro? And did you just stop taking the accutane. Did it help?
  3. Hi everyone! So I started getting occasional breakouts in high school then my freshman year of college (five years ago) I got acne it seemed over night. I have been prescribed multiple rounds of antibiotics and they would only work for 6 months to a year and then it would seem like my acne came back with vengeance. April of 2016 I was prescribed spiro and it has been an absolute God send. My skin has been basically clear since august of last year. I get occasional breakouts like once a month but

    Spiro Dosage

Hi everyone, I have been on 50 mgs of Spiro for about 16 months now. It has been a miracle but in the past week I have broken out more than I have since I started Spiro last year. I can tell it is hormonal because the breakouts are around my jaw and mouth and cheeks. I don't want to up my dosage of spiro yet but I am curious if any spiro users would take a little extra for days or weeks their skin was less than subpar? I am thinking about taking an extra 25mg just until my skin clears up but I d

    Initial breakout with Spironolactone?

Yes, I did breakout for quite some time initially taking Spiro. I asked my doctor to put me on Doxy to control the inflammed I don't want to frighten you, but with hormonal treatments they can last 3-4 months. It did with me both when starting Yasmin/Yaz as well as Spiro. I have been on it for 2+ years and am now on 125mg with no BCP. That is interesting it took so long for your skin to acclimate. I am now on day 10 and have not had any new breakouts in four days and my skin looks the bes
  6. Hi thanks for the response! Did it at all make you break out more after you got the treatments?
  7. I am hoping to get any answers from people who have personally had glycolic peels or microdermabrasion. I went to my dermatologist last week and he prescribed spiro and he suggested I get microdermabrasion and glycolic peels in their office because it is covered by my insurance. I have had another dermatologist recommend it but I was told I would have to get off trentinoin completely and I am not willing to do that. But my dermatologist told me last week that I would need to just not use the tre

    Initial breakout with Spironolactone?

I just started spiro yesterday and by the evening I had three different breakouts. Nothing too serious just small whiteheads. I'm just wondering how many of you that took spiro experienced an initial breakout and how long did it last? Any comments and advice is appreciated.

    Completely Obsessed with My Skin

This is exactly how I feel. I wake up from dreams some nights freaking out because I think that I've developed more skin issues, but I realize it was just a dream. I know exactly where the issues are on my face because of how often I obsessively look and pick at it in the mirror. Some mornings I don't even want to get up and have to look at my skin. I get so depressed whenever my skin is bad, I don't want to go anywhere or do anything and I feel bad that my boyfriend has to deal with it. He's wa

    Antibiotic Resistance

I have been on some form of antibiotics for four years straight. For about 11 months I have been taking 40 mg of Oracea 1x a day and 50 mg of minocycline 2x a day. The past few months my skin has been breaking out again which tells me I have become resistant to the antibiotics. I'm considering weening off antibiotics because there is no reason I should be taking it if it isn't helping. My question is do you think that the antibiotics aren't working at all or there not working as as they used to?

  13. Quick back story: I have always struggled with breakouts since high school but four years ago during my freshman year in college my breakouts were borderlining acne. I went to my first dermatology appointment in September of 2012 and my doctor was very intelligent and kind, He prescribed me Oracea (delayed 40mg of doxycyline) and topical clindamycin solution as well as trentinoin. Oracea worked remarkably for a year, I was completely clear, then in December of 2013 my skin was as bad as befor

I suggest going to a dermatologist as they will have the best treatment option for you! They will be able to prescribe medications that you cannot buy over the counter.
  15. I had a dermatology appointment today and my doctor is considering prescribing Nicazel. Have any of you had any experience with this medication? If so, was it beneficial? Did you have an initial breakout?
