  1. Day 2 I have two new spots, but they were all somewhat visible two days ago when I was on proactiv, now they're just bigger. I'm trying to be optimistic and say that the new bp gel is cleaning out all of the bad stuff (the whole it has to get worse before it gets better thing). Sorry if this is kind of gross lol, I just want to be really specific. Other than that, things are going pretty well. I love how smoothly the bp gel goes on, it reminds me a lot of the proactiv repairing lotion (step
  2. Hey mimigirl, Have you thought about using Dan's bp gel instead of the proactiv bp? It's sooo much cheaper!
  3. Day 1 Well so far so good. I don't have any new spots and the couple that I did have are a little smaller today The bp gel took me about ten minutes to rub in, but I really like being able to use a lot of it. It's too early to see any real progress, but I'm still excited to start the regimen. Just so you know, here's some info about me: female 19 years old moderate acne already tried: bp gels from dermatologist, antibiotics, retin a micro, Dan's regimen with neutrogena bp, and proactiv S
  4. Tonight I stopped using Proactiv for the first time in two months. The problem is, my results with Proactiv are not consistent. My skin might be totally clear for a few days, and then the next day I start breaking out again. I've decided to try Dan's regimen and see if I can get clear skin for good. I was on the regimen for a little while last year, but I stopped because I hated the way the neutrogena bp looked under my make up. So now I am going to try the regimen with Dan's BP gel. Sta
  5. Yes! Sally I can so relate to you. Some days my make up looks great and others it'a a total flop. I really cake my make up on because I use Dan's regimen so it's on top of a ton of bp and moisturizer. I even stopped the regimen for a while so my makeup would look more natural, but I just broke out more and now I'm starting all over again. Is anyone else here on the regimen? Do you find yourself using a lot of make up too? Anyway girls, if makeup helps you feel more confident, wear it proud
  6. I've been on the regimen for about 2 months now and its been working farirly well. My biggest complaint is that I have to use soooo much foundation bc if I dont then the foundation looks very streaky over the bp. I feel like my face is heavy bc of all the makeup I use. Plus it takes me forever to get ready in the morning. ](*,) I am currently using Neutrogena healthy skin foundation. Is there another product that is more compatible with the regimen?
  7. Hey. Was your old medicine prescribed by a doctor? If so maybe you should talk to him about it. I don't know if I am going to be much help, but based on my own experience I would say follow your instincts. My dermotoligist prescribed retin a micro for me over the summer. It didnt really work but she said it takes a long time. So I waited about 3 months and it only got worse. I felt just as desperate and frustrated as you. So I decided to try Dan's regimen as a last resort. It worked the
  8. Hey. I've been on the regimen for about 2 months now and my skin has improved so much. But when I first started the first week was great and the second and third week were really bad. I broke out noticeably more than usual and I really wanted to quit, but I didn't know what else to do. So, I stayed on the regimen just bc I couldnt think of anything new to do and I am so happy that I did. By the fourth week I was pretty clear. I still struggle with it but it has gotten so much better. Hope
  9. I've been using Sally Hansen cornsilk powder for about 4 years now. I saw it on the news when it first came out bc it is really great at preventing shine and minimizing oil. But I recently read in a magazine that corn powders can cause yeast on the skin which causes acne. Now this stuff is oil free and noncomedogenic, but could it be making me break out bc it is a corn powder? :-k
  10. I tried proactiv right about the same time I found the regimen. I like the regimen so much better bc you can feel it working. Proactiv feels oily on my skin and made it shiny. I'm not a big fan.
  11. I just started the regimen and I'm also concerned about the effect of makeup. I use a lot of the Eucerin alpha hydroxy moisturizer but I wait fifteen minutes after I'm done rubbing in the bp before I put it on. Then I use Neutrogena healthy skin foundation which is oil free and noncomedogenic. You might find that it gets streaky so you will need to use more moisturizer. Then for powder I use Sally Hansen cornsilk powder which hides any streaks and prevents shine. Like I said I just strarted
  12. I was on orthotrycyclin for about 3 months, not for acne but just to be on birth control. I find that it didn't really do anything for my skin, better or worse. However, I also heard many good things about it but that it takes like 3 months to start working, so maybe thats why it didnt affect me. Hope that helps O:) I know what it's like to keep trying and not see any permanent results. I just started the regimen, you should try it too. Let me know what you think of it. Jenn
