  1. That's a bummer that you had to start again. I'm getting ready to finish up my course and will be curious to see how it goes. My acne sounds a lot like yours (and I've had the same annoying sweating side effect!) Hope your second round does the trick.
  2. Congratulations. I remember seeing your posts when you were nearing the end of your course. I'm so glad that you got the results you wanted. You look great!
  3. I picked up some vitamin E oil from Walgreens, and add a tiny bit to my damp hair after showering to add more moisture into my hair. Works great.
  4. I went to the Bahamas in my 3rd month and was in the sun a ton. I used SPF45 all over and a hat to shield my face and was fine.
  5. My hair was a little way before accutane, and it seems to be curlier now. I think it may have to do with the dryness of my hair on accutane.
  6. I've experienced the same thing. My upper lip sweats all the time now - sooo annoying. I asked my derm about it, and he said he'd never heard of it as a side effect.
  7. Aquaphor feels great but wears off really fast. Dr. Dan's tastes aweful, but seems to heal well. Lately I've been using Carmex a lot during the day because it stays on longer. Such a pain . . .
  8. I've been having some joint pain too, but I've found that taking some glucosamine and fish oil supplements seems to help. You can find both at GNC. My derm also recommended Advil for joint pain as needed. Good luck!
  9. How's your accutane course coming?

    1. I'm finishing up my first month and the only bad side effect has been chapped lips. I also hate needles, but I've had blood drawn 3x now and I actually think I'm starting to get used to it!
    2. So, things are going really well for me so far! Seems like my skin started to clear up almost immediately. I have a few jaw line spots currently, but the rest of my face is pretty clear. My skin texture has changed a ton too. It's very soft and not at all oily. That's so foreign to me! Hope everyone else in the "March Starters" group is doing great!
    3. I've switched my birth control pill a couple of times and my OBGYN has always recommended that I just start the new prescription when I would have started a new pack of my previous pill. The estrogen levels in OTC and Yasmin are similar, so I think it would be best not to take a break. It might actually be more of a shock to your system to stop completely and then start again. Below is a link to a great article I found when trying to choose a pill. Which Oral Contraceptive is Right for Me?
    4. Dr. James Nordlund - Group Health Associates. His main office is in Mason, but he also works out of an office in Kenwood. I had a hard time finding a doctor who would prescribe accutane too. Dr. Nordlund uses accutane regularly in his practice and is very knowledgable about the drug and the iPledge process. Good luck!
    5. I'm on day 11 now, and still not many side effects. It's weird. Some days my lips feel really dry and other days they feel fine. My skin is still just as oily as it was before. Can't wait to get rid of the oil!!
