  1. 6 months.. I too am hoping for a longer remission! I would totally recommend Accutane though.
  2. You have NO IDEA how much I sympathize with you.. I know exactly what you're going through. Before going on Accutane, I'd look at myself in mirrors, reflective surfaces, shiny things, OBSESSIVELY, staring at my ugly skin and wishing it would go away. Trust me, I know how you feel. It's terrible. I was completely clear after 4 months of Accutane, and I felt like a totally new person.. but there is a down side. It is now 6 months after I finished Accutane, and I can see my skin going back to the
  3. I took Minocin for about 1-2 years when I was around 14. I got the same effects as you, plus nausea, and it didn't go away until I stopped taking it. It helped cure my acne though, at least for a while.
  4. How bad is it? I am 5 months post tane and get the occassionally zit. I have probably had a handful since completing the course. Are you doing anything for maintainance? It's not that bad, yet, I don't really have any pimples/zits, just these weird tiny bumps around my nose and they're spreading out to my cheeks.. my face feels oily and my skin feels like crap.. from a distance, they'd be unnoticeable. I know I'm overexaggerating and my skin is in much better condition than before, but when
  5. what was the total amount of accutane you digested during your course and your weight during the course? Thank you SO MUCH for replying!!! I believe I was on 40mg/day for 1-2 months, and then was on 40mg/day, 80mg every other day for the next 2-3 months. I'm trying to remember exactly, but I honestly can't. My weight during the course was about 100 lbs, and I am 5'3. Interesting... that should've been enough, by your weight im assuming you're a female... Maybe some sort of birth control pil

  7. So I was on Accutane Aug - Nov 2006, and was clear for half a year; now I can see it starting to gradually come back to haunt me in Apr 2007. I've battled rosacea/acne for years, and want to get this under control as quick as possible this time. Anyone else took Accutane and saw their skin go back to its old shape after a while? Should I go on Accutane for a second course, NOW? My skin isn't that bad YET, but Accutane is the only thing that worked for me, at least for a while, and like I said,
  8. I'm using Spectro Derm right now. It's really great 'cause it cleanses AND moisturizes, so you don't need to do both. Also, my dr. recommended it for me and the pharmacist said it was better than Cetaphil. Good luck with the accutane! I just started too, so we're in this together. =)
  9. Ahh thank you SO MUCH loofery!! This is VERY helpful. You're the best. =)
  10. are any of you taking anything with the accutane? as in, any antibiotics or topicals? right now, i just stopped putting on the metrogel (a gel for rosacea) and it's looking lots better. but i'm afraid the redness will return if i keep my skin "naked".. it feels a lot better too but i'm not used to it. i plan to buy moisturizer/vaseline/eye drops/nasal spray if any of those areas start getting dry, but for now, i'm only using cetaphil gentle cleanser and accutane for my skin. is this okay?? wha

  12. i've been on minocycline for 2 years.. on and off. i've just started accutane 2 days ago, but up until then, was on minocycline. the first time i took it, it cleared up my skin but once i stopped, all my problems came back.. so i went on minocycline again, but it barely made a difference the 2nd time. i hope you have better luck! =)
  13. lol ok if you are i guess i may as well too.. he was really clear to keep using the tazorac and i guess if other people are still using topicals I WILL TOO,.,, lol when do you start school? i start in 3 weeks so hopefully the initial breakout will be done by then but i doubt it lol mm i dunno about the exact time since i kinda would rather not think about it, but my first day is sept 5. is that in 3 weeks? i dunno =P i was gonna post this as a topic, but seeing as it's kinda a stupid quest
