  1. I got my initial breakout about 4 weeks into my course. And it lasted for about 2 weeks max. Obviously I was on a higher dose and everyones different, but just wanted to share my point of view!
  2. Hey Monisizet, Oh wow, I hope everything settles down during your accutane break! It's good that you caught all these symptoms early on, just to monitor how your body is reading to accutane. And that's right, you can always go back to accutane in the future. Thanks for letting me know! I went to my ophthalmologist and dermatologist. I was have swollen eyelids for almost 2 weeks now. They both said I have nothing to worry about and I should continue treatment. My dermatologist said that she'
  3. Monisizet My hair is okay..the same, and a few of my lashes have fallen out. I've been putting castor oil on my brows...So I'm hoping to see some results in a few weeks. I'm going to make a visit my ophthalmologist again next week. Been having swollen eyelids and it's scary. I sometimes don't even want to be on accutane anymore because of these side effects :/ Thanks for asking
  4. Well during month 2, I had a series of visits to the eye doctor. I first went to my optometrist and she had keratitis. She gave me an antibiotic for my eye and some gel drops to use at night. That worked wonderfully. Then two weeks later, I tried to wear makeup, and got the same reaction again (the reaction that led me to visit my optometrist). I then visited my ophthalmologist and he dilated my eyes and what not. On my first visit, he gave me Lotemax so see if I had a infection or allergy b/
  5. I feel like it's on a higher end of dosage, too. My doctor said that she's dosing me according to the 1.5 mg/kg limit. When I started accutane, I was about 152 pounds. So I've lost about 12 pounds (not complaining!). I may talk to her and see if I can alternate taking pills or lower my dosage. Because this is just getting out of hand. I'm going to try coconut+castor oil on my brows to see if that does anything. Thanks for the input! Idk how I'm doing it
  6. Hey guys. So I recently started the third month of my course on 80 mg/day. I recently visited my ophthalmologist and he said I have blepharitis. It's fine because it's very common on accutane users and supposedly very easy to treat. My only concern is that I just hope it doesn't worsen! Has anyone had any issues with hair loss, particularly eyebrows and eyelashes? I have very thin hair and not an "abundance" of it. I have androgenic alopecia, and it runs in the family. My kind just makes my
  7. :/ So sorry to hear about this. After having plugs, did it hope your dry eye issue? I just went to my ophthalmologist 2 days ago and he said I have blepharitis. I know it's a common symptom, but it's definitely concerning. I just hope it doesn't worsen, since I just started month 3.
  8. Hi there. I wanted to know if you have any updates with your eyes and skin? Did you end up finishing your course or did you have to temporarily stop? I'm about to finish my first month (80 mg/day) and I had really dry eyes too. My optometrist said I had keratitis, so I've been putting eye drops + gel drops in my eyes religiously. Just wanted to hear an update from another person. Hope you're feeling better! Hi molarbear sorry but I only have bad news i came back in for a checkup 2
  9. Most of the inflamed ones are going flat but there's new ones. And for me the breakout is mostly on the right side which has always been my problem side! Ahh. How long have you been in IB? Hmm..Well I started to subtly break out around day 13. So I wanna say about 2 weeks. Not sure how my body's going to react b/c I'm on such a high dosage. It'll clear up soon, I promise. Once it clears, you'll see improvement tremendously. The hardest part of this drug is bearing the side effects..after

  11. Hey congrats on starting! I'm on day 26 of Absorica (80 mg/day). I'm currently going through the initial breakout as well, but mine comes and goes. Like it's bad, but not too bad..if that makes sense? It's funny because the right side of my face is significantly clearing up, yet the left side of my face is breaking out. Anyways..I'm sure you already know this..but seriously..drink A LOT of water. As you go on with your meds, you will see a different in your body every day or two. Whether it
  12. Hey Everyone! I can't believe I discovered this forum only so recently. It's been so informative I'm looking forward to documenting my progress on here. Background - I've had *crystal clear* skin up until I was 19 years old. Everyone in my family has good skin and I was one of them. I don't know what happened but I just started to get bad breakouts when I was in college. Like my acne wasn't too bad, but it was aggressive. It was localized to my chin, and then two years ago (I'm 22 now) i
