  1. The problem with my food regimen is that i get so sick of eating the same foods over and over again, BUT it does amount to weight loss and clear skin. I guess there must be some give and take, right?
  2. Which supplements??? Could they cause acne?? AHHH. My skin is breaking out so bad. But I reallly think that SUGAR is the culprit. Gotta love that holiday food...
  3. This diet is working wonders. You all should try it if you have any inclination. My skin looks AMAZING!
  4. what is an enema? and yes, i think right now would be a great time for me to fast since i just recently cut out gluten, corn, dairy, soy and sugar. i need to rid my body of toxins from previous years of consuming these foods! how long should i fast for?
  5. I think you should eliminate grape juice from your diet, eat a more substantial breakfast that includes hormone-free meats or a wider variety of veggies and fruits, and avoid breads...anything that has ingredients in it is processed, to an extent. Also--if you had an intense pain in your stomach after eating bread, you are probably allergic to gluten. That would be a huge reason for why you have acne. You should take gluten out of your diet and see if your acne improves...I bet it will!
  6. I think that if you are going to go all out, you should go off of gluten too. There have been a great deal of posts regarding success in curing acne when people eliminate gluten from their diet. Also, be sure to drink plenty of water. Water is so important. Another suggestion may be to get your hormones checked--have you done any research about this? Hormones are directly related to acne. Figure out what is causing the inflammation in your skin. I think a lot of people would agree that, chan
  7. well i already am gluten free---i am allergic. so you did lose weight? hm, that'd be a nice side effect. but how did your acne do?
  8. so tell me, what do i need to do to do a fast? just drink a lot of water and eat nothing for three days?? can i put some apple cider vinegar in my water?? i want to try this. but i am a rookie--i dont want to die or anything. help!
  9. I have been on Accutane...twice. The acne comes back. I have been on Yasmin for over four years. I still have cystic acne. I have used Differin, Clindamyacin, Benzoyl Peroxide, Hydrogen Peroxide, Microdermabrasion, Chemical peels, Proactiv, AcneFree, Witch Hazel, Minocyclin, Spironolactone,...you could say I have tried EVERYTHING. Well, I am at end's meet, and am convinced that my acne is caused by internal, not external, factors. After spending a great deal of time researching the holistic
  10. I would like to share with all of you my experience so far with DIM. After having severe acne for the past three years of my life, and going through two series of Accutane, I decided I had had enough. Accutane cleared my skin up for the time being, but after the end of each series, my acne returned. Throughout the past three years, I have been taking Yasmin Birth Control. I came to the conclusion about two weeks ago that Yasmin was responsible for blowing up my acne. The high levels of estroge
  11. If none of you are responding to the spironolactone, it must mean that this medication is not targeting the problem...you likely do not have hormonal acne, or the spironolactone is not fixing the right hormone (androgens). I would suggest having a blood or saliva test to see where your hormones are at. You may have to beg your doctor to do this, or see an endocrinologist...you may have to explain that you have other symptoms of hormone irregularity...heavy periods, weight gain, anxiety, depressi
  12. Shoot, I'm nearing the end of my second month and the hair loss isn't getting any better! I think it's also making my depression worse, hard to tell if you go onto a pill with a condition. Anyone think I should wait out till the end of the third month or should I quit BCPs all togethor? (Oh, and my acne is only slightly better) I have been losing tons of hair, experiencing horrible anxiety and depression, and have developed cystic acne ever since i started yasmin about three years ago.
  13. I was put on birth control to help my acne, and just have never stopped taking it. I dont NEED to be on it, per say... Has anyone had acne from yasmin??
  14. Hello all-I have quite the scenario for you. Hopefully someone has an idea as to what is going on. I started taking birth control to manage my periods when i was a sophomore in high school. I believe it was later in the year, and by the time my junior year rolled around, I had full-blown, horrible cystic acne. I continued to take Yasmin. I also took various antibiotics, and finally, took accutane. I completed a six month course, and by my senior year, my skin was very clear. It continued to sta
