  1. I have found when I consume a lot of dairy products(milk, yogurt, etc...) it contributes a lot to my acne. So-I was at Kroger and headed over to the organic section. I picked up a brand called Horizon Reduced Fat milk and I've been using it for months now and I love it. I cannot taste a difference between it and real milk. And it's not even that much more expensive than normal milk. Also-I feel better when using organic products because I feel like it helps with my acne. I would definitely recom
  2. I actually just got done with my second IPL treatment this afternoon. I used to have serious cystic acne, but I finally got it under control with PCOS medicine and birth control. After the acne went away I wasnt left with any deep scarring(which I'm thankful for), but I was left with a lot of red marks. It bothered me a lot, because even with makeup you could still notice all of the marks. So I found this medical spa near where I live. After talking with a professional who works there, I decided
  3. I was told my my derm that you can either put it on before using the Retin-A--just wait 30 minutes before applying Retin-A. Or you can apply moisturizer 30 minutes after you put on your Retin-A. I guess it's whatever you prefer.
  4. That's awesome that you are seeing such great results so soon into using it. I have been using Retin-A Micro for about four months and while I have seen improvements-it isnt as good as I would like it to be. I know everyone reacts and heals at different levels--but I'm hoping to see better results soon!! Keep updating!
  5. I have been on Retin-A Micro for about 4 months and I have found that the more gentle the cleaner the better. I use Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser and I love it. It is so gentle and leaves my skin feeling so soft. I would definitely recommend it to you while you're on Retin-A Micro.
  6. Hey-I just read your story and saw your pics on your webpage. your skin looks awesome! I can totally relate to what you went through. I am still struggling with acne but definitely not like it used to be. I have gone from severe cystic to mild acne with retin-a and metformin(because I have PCOS which messes up my hormones). But I was just wondering what exactly you think helped with your acne? I know you were doing the diet thing. Even though my skin has improved tremendously, I am still trying
  7. You can use both retin-a-micro and benzoyl peroxide in the same regimen. My derm prescribed me Duac(BP) in the morning and RAM in the evening before bed and I've had great results. At first, I did break out but only because it purges everything from your pores. You just need to make sure you moisturize plenty and when your face does get dry and flakey-switch off products for a day or two. I'm still in the "waiting" period, but I think it can only get better from here. And I'll add that I did hav
  8. Hey-I am also on retin-a micro. Ive always used expensive cleansers and such(im talking like $50-$60 for a cleanser!) But with the retin-a micro you want to be as gentle as you can and I have found that Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser works best. I have combo skin, so sometimes it's oily and sometimes its dry and this cleanser is perfect. It doesnt have any harsh active ingredients like BP or Salicylic Acid so its really soft and soothing. If you feel you want something to help with the breako
  9. the peeling means it's working and it will go away! Keep with it...I am on it as well so I know how it is!! Good Luck!
  10. I like Olay Complete Moisturizer light and greasy. It also has a sunscreen in it as well so thats always good. They have a few different ones you can choose from to match your skin type--I get the combo skin. I use that during the day because I wear makeup and then at night I use Cetaphil. I have seemes to like this routine the best. I also use Retin-A-Micro.
  11. I agree with Jordan19. I am currently using it right now and I like the improvement so far. I havent reached month 3 yet so I'm trying to be patient. But like he said--wait 20-30 minutes after washing your face to apply it and then moisturize day and night! Good Luck!
  12. Hey thanks SOOO much for the info Im going to ask about Yasmin on monday!!!! Since then ive been eating low GI foods to maintain stable sugar levels as im pretty sure i have PCOS. Ive heard Yasmin does very well for PCOS so am defo going to ask about it. Thank you agen x wish u all the best ! My experience is almost the exact same as Schango's above. Yasmin has been great for me. I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for three years. My acne started to get pretty bad so I called my gyno and
  13. That is pretty weird! I used to pick a lot so I have some scars and I dont want anymore so thats why I dont pick at all. But I do know that it is hard not to. Ive been getting facials at a local spa, and that has helped so much! Especially being on the Retin-A Micro--it purges all of your pores and pulls everything to the surface, so getting the facials makes the breakouts go away a lot faster! And she also puts a Vitamin C and A treatment on that has done awesome for scars! Good Luck with with
  14. Hydrocortisone cream helps a lot with the redness and swelling of cysts. You can pick it up at the drugstore or they have prescription strength as well that you might be able to get from your derm.
  15. Congrats on the progress that you've made so far with the Retin-A Micro. I have been using Retin-A Micro for about a month or so and I've seen great results so far. One piece of advice that I can give you is to not pick at your bumps! I know its hard, because like you said youd rather have red marks then pus on your face. I used to always pick and now I'm left with scars. They arent bad, but they bother me. Plus picking at your skin while using Retin-A Micro will scar your skin even more! So try
