  1. Hi Everyone, I may be required to start biking for my job (possibly up to the entire 8 hour shift) in the spring/summer/fall heat and humidity. I have read the other helmet threads, and just wanted to get some feedback from anyone else who may be in a similar situation. My main problem is extremely oily skin and scalp. I keep my hair as short as possible, but I get a constant shine on my scalp and t-zone. I use Dan's BP twice a day on my face, as well as tea tree oil shampoo and salicylic acid
  2. I'm terrified of the side-effects, which is why it's taken me this long to get my prescription... I mean, the drug's - accutane - only been on the market for 25 years so who knows what it does to people after 50? (assuming they took the first-released drug at 20 or something) I'm just worried. The pros need to pwn the cons. Just took my 4th pill (2 pills a day, 40 MG each), so this is the end of day two. No side effects. I've been waiting for headaches, or an upset stomach, but really I
  3. Took the first pill. Yummy. The packaging is really poorly designed. They should allow male patients just to get the pills in a standard bottle. The generic I was given in Sotret. I've read all the paperwork and warnings. Sounds like a fun little list of things to worry about as I don't really want to go blind, deaf, or have diabetes.
  4. Insurance finally approved my generic accutane Rx. About to go pick it up and take my first pill today! So I guess today is Day 1. I have been battling acne for about 10 years. My main problem is oil. My body produced way too much oil, and it causes breakouts all over my face, scalp, and back. I generally use salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide on my face, and just salicylic acid everywhere else (body wash, shampoo). I keep my hair short, because my oily hair prevents me from growing it out, unl
  5. My derm OK'd me for Accutane today, as long as my lab results come back okay, which since all my blood levels were good late last year, I don't think I have too much to worry about. 2 more weeks!
  6. Hello, I have been on Lexapro 10mg/day for about 5 months now. After many years of battling acne I am finally going to ask my dermatologist about Accutane. However, I want to know if anyone has taken Lexapro (a SSRI) with Accutane? I can't seem to find any information about directly related interactions, but I am not sure if this lack of documentation is good or bad. Any ideas?
  7. Hi. I have done a bit of searching, but have been unable to find any type of topical cortisone product in gel form. Does anyone know of a gel-based cortisone similar to the feel of Dan's BP that'd be good for spot treatments? In my experience cysts and other really deep problems seem to go away faster when you regularly apply cortisone, but it's really hard to get it to absorb with most store bought creams. Any suggestions, or reasons why something like this isn't on the market yet? Thanks!
  8. Here's my review: I saw these on a commercial recently. I had trouble finding them at first, but eventually found them at a CVS. My regimen pretty much consists of using Clean and Clear Salicylic Acid Blackhead Clearing Scrub and Dan's Gel morning and night (I have used Dan's gel since it first came out). The only problem is I am not always so good with the gel, just because it's hard to apply - it takes quite a while to apply and you have to be careful of clothing and hair unless you want fun
  9. Why not just use the virtual PayPal Debit Card while ordering? It's free
  10. Try either Neutrogena or Clean and Clear's Salicylic Acid eliminating face washes. I've found that they work perfectly with the regimen unless you have really really dry skin.
  11. So Dan, when are you going to get your own infomercial? Can I buy stock in Clear Skin, Inc?
  12. Try Dial antibacterial body wash. It contains Triclosan, not BP, but it's the only thing that works for me. Use it once a day in the shower with a loofah sponge and within a month you should notice improvement. If you use BP on your body it will bleach your clothes out unless you're always wearing an under shirt.
  13. I tried Head and Shoulders last summer, and it had absolutely no effect on me. Try Neutrogena (I think?) T/Sal Salicylic Acid Shampoo. It's kinda expensive and in a smaller bottle than normal shampoos, but it works wonders for me. Be sure to give it two or three weeks to kick in and for your current scalpne to heal up, and then judge on whether or not it's working. Also, be sure to change your pillow case very frequently, If I wait longer than a week sometimes my scalp starts to break out, I gu
  14. Just placed my order, can't wait to try this stuff out!
  15. I took Bactrim DS and it caused mild tinnitus in my right ear, and it still hasn't gone away a year later (I only took it for about a week and stopped once I noticed the ringing). It's a listed side effect. Just an FYI...
