    New Formula?

    New Formula?

I used to swear by this make up and use it a lot. I loved the SPF, it has great staying power, and its coverage is full but not at all cakey. However the last bottle I bought caused me to break out - something that has never happened before. It irritated my skin. I thought maybe something else was doing it, but my routine had not changed at all. So I went without this makeup for a few days and my skin was fine, then I tried it again and got some very painful cysts. I'm not sure what happened, whether or it was me or a change in the product, but it no longer works for me. I do still recommend it though as it is quite nice; but definitely, as with all make up, do your research before you buy it and make sure it'll suit you.

I use either this or Cetaphil on a daily basis, and between the two I find that this works much better after a long day without causing any irritation to the skin. Its very gentle, formulated for sensitive, intolerant skin, and you really dont need a lot for it to work. I use the Toleraine line by La Roche Posay at the suggestion of my Dermatologist and I've got no complaints at all - its simple and it works. It'll even remove make-up at the end of the day without leaving you red, raw, and sore. It is genuinely a great product, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Since my dermatologist recommended this to me 4 years ago its been the only Sunscreen I trust on my face. I have used others before but end up feeling oily, sticky, clogged, or irritated. I have very sensitive skin and it breaks out at the most minor offence, but I'm also outside quite a bit and need a high SPF all the time. La Roche Posay sunscreen does not irritate my skin, it has a very light, milky consistency and goes on well. It also looks great under make up and doesnt make skin oily at all.

As someone with very sensitive skin I find this make-up a lifesaver. It feels beautiful on the face, blends really well, and most importantly - it does not break me out. My only qualms with this product are that there is no SPF and that the bottle, while both attractive and durable, can be difficult to use. Typically I'll use an SPF 50+ (La Roche Posay Anthelios) followed by this foundation for day to day use. Its very buildable so you can go from a natural light look to one with more coverage without looking like you've caked something on. At night I use a very think layer and apply Estee Lauder Double Wear over the top. I would definitely recommend this foundation to anyone with sensitive skin who wants a product that they can build and wear all day without worrying about breakouts or irritation.
  5. Hi baseball8star, I'm on my first week of accutane as well, but only on a very low dosage. My dermatologist did tell me that there would be an initial break out and that I should expect to experience new cysts and white heads from the end of the first week onwards, and then that things would settle after a month or two and get better quite quickly from there. I suspect that you are experiencing the initial breakout. My doctor put me on a 400mg dose of Erythromycin twice daily to help counter the initial breakout. It might be worth talking to your dermatologist or even your GP about doing a short course for a few weeks. Your doctors will know how to approach it best as they have your medical history. Best of luck.
