  1. Thanks for the link. I've seen licorice mentioned as a skin spot lightner on several other web sites as well. The person reviewing it on this site said they mixed it with uva ursi extract 1/1 mix. I believe they used it all over, but I would want to try it on a spot basis first to see how I reacted to it. I'd have to order the stuff online..... I may also just try an asprin mask one or twice a week too, as it's salicylic acid without all the other chemicals that can come in OTC masks. I u
  2. I used BP for 15 years (I'm 35) before recently switching to a combo of tea tree oil and SA. I did get more acne initially but my skin seems to be calming down now. The biggest benifits from TTO/SA vs BP I've noticed are, 1) Any pimples that have developed while on TTO/SA seem to heal/go away faster then when on BP 2) The red marks left from pimples I've developed while NOT on BP have faded significatly faster than the red marks I got from pimples while on BP. I have been using TTO/SA for
  3. Has anyone tried licorice extract for fading post acne spots? It has one very good review under product reviews, but I thought I'd see if anyone else has tried it with any luck. I'm just so sick of the pimple going away after a day or two but the red spot where it was remaining for weeks!!! I've tried a couple expensive dark spot lotions with no success, and prefer non-chemical products anyway. I already use tea tree oil ,jojoba, and emu oil for moisturisers, and a mix of ACV and lemon j
  4. I can't use Olive Oil, It irritates me, but I use strait jojoba oil on my face and Emu oil on my eyes. I think it's just a matter of figuring out which oil works for you.
  5. I ordered two 8oz BP's from the store. The picture shows the 8oz BP's being in tubes and the 16oz in a pump. I HATE pump dispensers. I specifically chose 2 8oz BP's even though the 16oz was a bit cheaper because I DID NOT WANT PUMP DISPENSERS. What do I receive? Two 8oz pumps of BP!!!!! This is NOT what is pictured on the website. I paid MORE to get the tubes! How do I get what I paid for? 8oz of BP usually lasts me at least 3 months, and I do not want to be stuck using this crappy
  6. Yes I said legs. Unfortunatly the AHA lotion was too strong for my face and I had to stop using it with almost a full tube left. So I was trying to figure out what to do with it, and said, hey why not just use it up on my legs? I have had a horrific problem with ingrown hairs on my legs after shaving for a long time. I typically cannot wear skirts or shorts in the summer because my legs are all spoted from ingrown hairs which get infected then turn into dark spots. After using the AH
  7. Yeah, and this is the last time she will be seeing him (and her) most likely. I just really hope it dosn't happen again with someone else because even though I've got my acne under control right now, it is NOT cool to make fun of someone for something they have no control over. But most people just don't get that. *sigh*
  8. Interesting, I find I tend to do the opposite. If I do have a breakout, which is unusual for me now- I will usually feel the need to dress nicely and do my hair and make up to .. compensate I guess? for the fact that I have a breakout on my face. On the days I'm clear, I don't feel that need to compensate and will go out of the house w/out make up and in sweats or whatever because I don't feel I need to "dress up" to look good. This of course only applies to days I'm not working. Work da
  9. So I'm at my best friend's, ex-boyfriend's daughter's birthday party and when I got there my best friend, her mom, and another mutual friend were telling me how the girl he cheated on my best friend with was at the party. (FYI we were there only because my friend likes her ex's daughter so much) I asked what she looked like and got the response... "She's skinny, brown hair in a pony tail, and she's got zits all over her face." I just stared at them for a moment, and then suddenly the 'other
  10. Any "adult" that makes fun of an aspect of someones appearance that they have no control over, is not truly an adult. These types of people lead shallow and empty lives. They are the type of people who need to put others down to feel better about themselves. Yes, it hurts, but try to tell yourself that you are a better person than they will ever be and true adults that hear another "adult" mock someone, do not think it's cool and will think less of that person for doing it. Oh and good for
  11. I'm about 95-100% consistently clear now. I am 33 and have acne since I was 11 years old. It went from mild, to moderate, to cystic, back to moderate before I got it under control. I have been 95-100% consistetly clear for around a year now. Yes my confidence has improved dramaticly, but as someone else said, I'm now nit picking other things about my face that I never gave a second thought to when I had tons of breakouts. Like I'm now sometimes self consious about my undereye circles. Or the
  12. I think for most people with mild/moderate acne, we are our own worst critics. Most people are not going to notice/care if someone has a few or even several zits on their face. I got a call from my brothers girlfriend the other night. She wanted to show me something and asked if we could FaceTime (we have iphones) I accepted, forgetting I currently had two white spots on my face because I had put some spot treatment on two zits I had. Of course the first thing out of her mouth was "What a
  13. I think it's good you got off Proactiive even if you are breaking out more now. I used it for 5 years breaking out the whole time, thinking it was keeping the acne under control. Then I quit it and went the more natural route. It did take my skin some adjusting time but now my skin is so much better than it was, not as irritated and red and oily and flaky at the same time. I think proactive is really too harsh for most people. I do still get a few zits now and then but in all my skin is 100
  14. Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector .5fl $17 or Dr Brant Pores no mores pore refiner 1fl $45 Both work well and are not a foundation but more like a paste type texture which fills in pores and makes them appear smaller. I think both work equally well. I use Dr Brants usually just because it's easier for me to get. The Clinique also a couple shades available to better blend in with your skin if you don't want to wear foundation over it. Dr Brant's is tinted but only in one shade.
  15. Tight-ish rubber band on your wrist. Everytime you pick your face, snap it.. Hard. Only works if you really do keep snapping it. NO cheating.
