  1. I started getting acne in the fourth grade (age 9!) and am wondering if I'm some sort of freak. I've never heard anyone say their acne started when mine did. Thanks everyone.
  2. I'm not an expert, but I don't think so. I mean, they're different chemicals. The effects might not be bad but it probably won't work as well as pure BP.
  3. This is a really interesting log, Dan. Thanks for doing this.
  4. yeah, what is the word on Dan's moisturizer? I'm looking forward to it.
  5. I've been on the regimen for about a week (I was using BP for a week before, but not religiously or in CSR form) and I'm just recovering from the initial breakout. Yesterday my face was very dry and I touched it a lot (bad idea, I know ) and today I have a huge breakout of small pustules where I was rubbing. Most of them have come to heads, but I am going to try very hard to not pick. Anyway, my questions are: 1. do you think this is from the touching or just another initial breakout? 2. how
  6. has anyone read american psycho? Bret Easton Ellis is my favorite author and it really is an amazing (if graphic) book. as for whether he imagined what he did, there is no clear-cut answer. In the book/movie the chase scene is just way too over-the-top to really be believable, but there is evidence that at least some of what he did actually happened (at the beginning there is a reference made to a yacht trip that Patrick went on where someone "disappeared", and in Ellis's other book, Glamorama,
  7. I'm using the new Aveeno with feverfew and really like it. It's really soothing and smells nice.
  8. I'm definitely no expert, but if I were you I would try adding more BP. Congratulations on your partial success and good luck!
  9. I'm also a week into the regimen! I'm almost exactly where you are-- just recovering from a breakout, but they're fading fast. Good luck.
  10. You look absolutely amazing! I'm so happy for you. Congratulations. Personally speaking, you've been a huge inspiration. I'm about a week into the regimen and looking at your gallery really gives me hope. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It's helped me a lot.
  11. yeah, I wouldn't try tasting BP.
  12. My forehead has always been amazingly clear. It's my cheeks that are the bad part.
  13. I'm going to try this in combination with the CSR-- I just started and really don't want to stop. I'm dipping before I cleanse and I'll make sure to moisturize well to avoid dryness. thanks for the tip. hopefully it works for me and congratulations on finding something that worked so well for you!
  14. phew. I feel a lot better. Thanks everyone.
  15. Hey guys. I've been using a 3.5% BP gel while waiting for the CSR supplies to arrive (which they just did, hooray!). It's been about a week and while I noticed some improvement in the first few days-- my skin felt nicer, old pimples were healing faster than usual-- I have had a new and rather severe breakout in the last few days. My face is the worst it's been in a while and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if this is a sign it's working. thanks!
  16. I've been thinking about ordering the CSR gel. Do you know approximately how long delivery takes? I live in the states.
  17. Thanks for all the help. I'll try to normalize my sleep schedule-- shouldn't be very hard as I'm off to camp in a week and it's lights out at 10:30!
  18. Hello! I have a few questions about sleep and the regimen. 1. I have a strange sleep schedule: some nights I will be up extremely late and some nights I will crash around 8 PM. Here are the times that I went to bed/woke up this weekend: Thursday: Went to bed at 11 PM, woke up at 9 AM Friday: Went to bed at 7 AM, woke up at 1:30 PM Saturday: Went to bed at 5 AM, woke up at noon Could my irregular sleeping patterns be contributing to acne? 2. Because I know that I won't feel like doing it lat
  19. Hello everyone. The first time I went to my derm, she put me on BP. For a while it worked really, really well. I was so happy my skin had cleared up. But after a while, I started getting breakouts (I know now that it's because I wasn't moisturizing enough/at all). Anyway, I was so depressed about the relapse that I started eating a lot. You know, the gallon of ice cream and the romance movie? I gained a lot of weight like this and now that I'm starting the CSR (which I have a good feeling about
  20. Hey everyone! I'm a couple of days into it and even though I have a few new pimples (probably from my monthly) I'm pretty sure I can see some improvement. My skin just seems healthier-- at least to me. I've found a good moisturizer that I don't have to use a lot of in order to get my skin feeling nice. I bought a rather small 2.5% BP cream, but I'm going to order Dan's cream soon. Just wanted to let you know all is going well!
  21. My family and the family of one of my ex-schoolmates are extremely close. We eat dinner at their house at least once a week. However, in the third grade (when I started breaking out) he started avoiding me and when I approached him at school he said "Get away from me. Don't act like you know me." At the time I had no idea why he was being so mean, but now I realize it was probably because of my face. It makes me feel awful when I think about it. (After that we became sworn enemies. We haven't s
  22. Thanks for the advice. I'll take it much more slowly.
  23. Oi! I was sure I read somewhere that it was only necessary to start slowly if you'd never used BP before (to avoid redness, flakiness), but I can't seem to find it now. Maybe it was all in my head.
  24. Hello again! I started the regimen this morning with lots of BP and moisturizer, just as the instructions said. I was sure to be gentle with my skin. My face has felt oily and strange all day. Is this normal, or is your skin supposed to feel as it does on any other day? Thanks for all the help, guys.
