  1. Hi there! I've been where you've been. The frustrating part of that all is, you find something that sort of works but doesn't really address all the issues that you may be having. It may with time, but I know for myself, I can get pretty impatient. I think The Regimen and the principles behind it (staying extremely gentle, avoiding irritation, stripping your products down to the bare essentials), may be of benefit to you. I think Dan's BP is the star of all of his products. It is high quality
  2. Hi! It is very tough to wear makeup during the initial stages of The Regimen. However, if you have a foundation or powder you know does not break you out, I say, wear it. It won't look great, but it will get you through the first few weeks of The Regimen. I cannot wait until The Regimen clears me up so I can choose whether or not to wear it. Right now, my skin is so red and looks so bad. Makeup is the one thing that allows me to leave my house to go to work and face the world. I know that is sil
  3. Hi, Frankie. I feel like it was an obligation of mine to revisit this topic. I wanted to let you know that I restarted The Regimen a few weeks ago but incorporated the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream in place of my moisturizer. I like it so far. I am entering my third week and am able to combat a lot of the flakiness. My skin is still dry, but I am happy to report that my skin is adjusting to the BP FINALLY! For right now, I am only applying a finger's length of BP at night and spot tre
  4. Hello hello! I have struggled with moisturizers, too! In fact, the majority of the ones I've tried either gave me contact dermatitis or they broke me out. It has been the one step in my skincare routine that I could not nail down for years. I have restarted using The Regimen using the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream on my face. I do not have eczema, but the cream claims to be gentle to use every day while strengthening your skin's natural moisture barrier. I had to stop using The Regi
  5. You know, I haven't been able to stick with The Regimen, unfortunately. I am going to be honest, I've tried so many moisturizers and the majority of them have broken me out. I am currently trying to go the natural route by just using a cold cream as my cleanser and using aloe vera on my face. I have very dehydrated skin, and have a sneaking suspicion this is what's causing my blemishes in the first place. For me, I need to start focusing on hydration instead of my acne. I am hoping once I correc
  6. Hello Hello! Though irritation/redness/dryness/tightness is common during the The Regimen, I think it is a good idea that you stopped applying the BP on your face. Giving yourself a few days off is a good idea. When you resume your application of the BP, I suggest you apply a tiny amount on your chin or jawline and see if you experience the same reaction. If you do, it is possible you are in the small percentage of people who is allergic to benzoyl peroxide. However, if you find your skin can
  7. Hi, there! I am so sorry you are having trouble with The Regimen. I can assure you, I was also experiencing awful side effects from The Regimen last year. I was following the instructions to a T for about a month, and though my blemishes had cleared up, the dryness and irritation my face was experiencing had become too overwhelming. I ended up quitting because of it. My piece of advice to you would be contacting acne.org customer support. They might be able to offer some insight as to why you ma
  8. It is so nice to hear someone else on the forum who is around the same timeline as me! I am currently on my second week, day 10 of The Regimen. I started The Regimen last year but had so many issues with the moisturizer that I had to stop. I am restarting it again with a new moisturizer (Elta MD AM Therapy) but am now in that uncomfortable stage. I am hopeful that the dryness and tightness around my cheeks will go away soon as it did on my chin area already! YAY! My eyes also water up when I app
  9. Hi, there! I think this is all dependent on your skin. Everyone's skin is different and there are so many varying factors that play a role in our skin's health. I, for one, know that whenever I stop using benzoyl peroxide of any percentage for a period of time, and then go back on it, I will always experience dryness/flakiness/tightness/redness. That also comes with a slight purging period as well. But, that is because my skin is already on the dryer and sensitive side. One piece of advice I wou
  10. Hi, there! I wanted to comment as I am also re-starting the regimen. I had originally used all three of Dan's products last year, but ended up experiencing some issues with the moisturizer which is why I stopped. I have restarted the The Regimen last week -currently on Day 10, using the Elta MD AM Therapy moisturizer. I, too, am experiencing an uncomfortable dryness and tightness on both of my cheeks. Unfortunately, the moisturizer is not hydrating enough to combat the dryness from the BP. Than
  11. Broke me out in cystic acne!

I never review products but I felt obligated to write one for this. Unfortunately, this product not only broke me out but it also caused a slight allergic reaction on my skin. I'm not sure what ingredient caused the allergic reaction, though. However, I'm pretty sure the acne came from the jojoba oil. When I applied the recommended amount, my skin would get greasy during the day and that excess grease caused awful breakouts. Even scaling back did not alleviate the greasiness and I ha
  12. From my experience, The Regimen addresses a multitude of issues I've had, so I have no doubt it will work on your upper arms. For instance, after I shave my legs, I tend to develop ingrown hairs (gross, I know), but after using Dan's BP and AHA cream on them every night, I noticed vast improvement in the texture of my skin there. I didn't think it would work, but the BP and AHA really helps exfoliate the skin. Good luck and let us know if you see any improvement!
  13. Hi, there! It doesn't look like the acne you have are cystic in nature. Which is a good thing because that type of acne can leave horrible scars. Have you looked into starting The Regimen from this website (Dan's cleanser, BP treatment, moisturizer?) If you haven't, I would advise that you buy the kits. They come in smaller sizes that you can try out before committing to buying the full size products. The main active ingredient that treats acne in Proactive is also used in Dan's regimen, which
