  1. I wish you luck. Hope it works out. Who is your laser person if you don't mind me asking? Please pm me if you would rather say privately. I've just seen a plastic surgeon for an acne scar (in the uk). They've recommended who I think is quite a highly regarded person in the uk for lasers. I was wondering if it's the same person! Although this person isn't a derm so might not be..
  2. I'm no expert but Lionqueen told me about the garden of wisdom 10% mandelic acid without alcohol for blackheads and it has been amazing! I started off using it about once every few days at night to get used to it and now i use it once a day at night. I'd suggest giving it a try it worked for me. Good luck.
  3. Lionqueen, You gave me some advice on here awhile ago and i just want to say thankyou!! I got the 10% mandelic w/out alcohol from gow and it has been amazing in clearing blackheads on my nose and cheeks. Many thanks!
  4. Hey Glitterball, Did you buy the glytone and ultralase 10? Sounds like i'm similar to you in that blackheads was my major problem. I live in uk and bought some mandelic from gow in the us and it is amazing stuff, i don't have hardly any now! But it does cost quite a bit so just wondered exactly which products you bought.
  5. You may need subcision before fillers, you could ask your doctor. That is where they take a needle and cut under the scar to make room for the filler. Otherwise the filler may not adequately get under there and instead just move around the hole which will make the scar look more like a "donut." Fillers are hit and miss for a lot of people, I don't think boxscars respond well. Please let us know how the filler works and if your dr did subcision first. As I told you mine did not do adequate s

  7. What do you mean donuted? Well the worst scar i have is a round pitted scar, i think this is a boxcar. The other 3 - i can only describe as indented line scars about a mm wide, not sure what these scar's would be classed as, they don't seem to fit any of the definitions.
  8. Hi guys, This is briefly my story. I went to see a plastic surgeon about some acne scarring, its basically 4 scars but all in one area. One of the scars in particular bothers me and i expected her to suggest i have this scar cut out. Anyway she said that 'this might sound strange but even though she is a plastic surgeon she would only recommend surgery as a last resort as the scar, which is left by the surgery could be just as bad as the original scar'. She recommended i have restylane fill
  9. I'm no expert but here's my opinions/tips! I'm 27, so maybe my skin/beard might be a little different to yours. But i try to shave every other day, if i shaved daily i think my skin would be too sensitive. I have found that if i leave my beard for a few days, i get odd spots on my neck and jawline area (not sure why) so for me every other day works best. Sometimes if i have got odd spots under beard its tempting to leave the beard to hide the spots, but i try to keep my routine as much as po
  10. Thanks for all the advice i really appreciate it. I only started using the cleanser about a week ago! For quite awhile, i have only used water on my skin, but recently i'm not sure whether due to stress or what, i've started getting mild acne again (i'm 27). Until recently i've been relatively clear for a few years after having moderate acne through late teens into early twenties and eventually getting roaccutane. So the recent outbreak is the reason i've decided to start a skin routine!
  11. Ah ok, thanks for the advice. I really don't know anything about ph and exfoliation! The sa makes my skin feel tight but doesn't irritate me although i only use it at night, in the mornings i just use water. Sorry i know this getting off the topic of the thread but what cleansers would you recommend that are mild, ph balanced and don't have active ingredients? i really only have mild acne, main problem is blackheads.
  12. Hi, i've just bought some mandelic acid none alcohol 10% from gow after reading some of the good reviews on here. Just a couple of questions i hope someone can answer. My cleanser is acnisal which has 2% salicylic acid do you think it will be ok to use the mandelic after washing with this cleanser? My second question is how do you guys apply the mandelic? (with cotton wool or with fingers and how much do you use? etc) as there are no instructions. Many thanks
  13. Wow you really have tried so many things! I really feel for you mate and good luck for the future. Don't think i've got much knowledge that would help you really but i would agree with others look at your diet closely could be something there that may help. Also do you drink alcohol? Personally i find that when i drink alcohol i get breakouts but if i don't drink my skin can be pretty clear. Good luck though hope you get results soon!
  14. Yes your not alone. I'm 27 now and have recently got mild acne nothing major (mainly blackheads on nose & cheeks)after being clear for quite awhile. I had moderate acne through my teens and early twenties. I took accutane and have been clear since. I recently split with my long term girlfriend so suppose have been a bit stressed lately and not sure if this is a factor. The only other thing is that i only wash with warm water so i've decided to start a proper skincare regime to see if th
  15. djtoodles - also looking for a cleanser myself so hope you don't mind me joining in your thread! Think i am going try the cetaphil also. I've found one called 'Cetaphil Non-Irritating Cleanser' online and wondering if this is the same as the cetaphil gentle cleanser mentioned above ?
