  1. I completely understand how you feel.  I have pushed (and still do) a lot of people out of my life because of my skin.  I've cancelled plans, called in sick, made unreasonable choices... I haven't been able to show "myself" completely.  Acne restricts me but having a support system, my family and friends, has really helped me tremendously.  They've stuck by me through my worst and I know that they have me around not because of my looks, but s
  2. I've never suffered from small, clogged pores UNTIL I tried Estee Lauder Double Wear. Granted, it was the first time someone's commented how "flawless" my skin looked. I used ELDW and ELDW Light for about 2 months. During this time, I started to get these weird skin-coloured bumps on my face that I've never had and the foundation enhanced it even more. It originally looked great on my skin because I didn't have these bumps but now that I do it looks really bad on my skin... That was almost
  3. MUFE HD Loose Powder worked for me back when I was in Grade 10. They also recently came out with a pressed powder version of this. I don't know why but this isn't effective on my skin anymore and doesn't combat my extreeeemely oily skin. I've also heard of the NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Powder. Just be careful and test them out first to make sure you won't break out from them! I've heard of some people breaking out from these powders, though personally I haven't. In my experience,
  4. I'm 20 years old and I can relate to almost everything you've said. I let and unfortunately still let acne control my life. Even though my acne isn't so bad as it was before, the damage has been done. I don't have the confidence to look people in the eye and I'm always so overly self-conscious whenever I'm face to face with someone. I always feel like they're judging my face and scrutinizing my skin. It's horrible to feel this way-- I really want to change it but it's so difficult to do so.
  5. Any advice on what I should do? I'm so conflicted because there's pros and cons to each side...
  6. When I was in high school, I was completely free of acne (unfortunately it came back with a vengeance now that I'm entering my 20's), Anyway, I drank green tea every single morning those four years and I'm definitely sure I never broke out because of it. If anything, it made my skin look better and it made me feel better too. Maybe it's a specific type or brand of green tea?
  7. I’m glad to help Hormonal acne is so frustrating as I’m suffering from it right now. You can tell if you have hormonal acne if you have symptoms related to hormonal imbalance as well. These include (some but not all): heavy, irregular, absent periods, PMS, anxiety, weight gain, low libido, fatigue, etc. Have your levels checked by a doctor or a professional if you want to find out if you’re suffering from hormonal imbalance. I think seeing a dermatologist would be a really good idea
  8. I've had acne since I was around 12 years old and I still do! Sure, it's improved a hell of a lot than what it was before but the war's not over... and yes, I'm truly, truly exhausted but I sure as heck won't just give up and let it win. My acne improved tons after seeing a dermatologist who prescribed me Retisol-A, Clindamycin and an antibiotic. I was 14 then and along with the prescribed medication, I exercised a lot, did yoga, stopped eating fast food, stopped drinking pop and instead dran
  9. Since you're breaking out around your hairline, are you sure it isn't the shampoo/conditioner that's making you break out around there? I use Argan oil too but only for my under-eyes as I tried it on other parts of my face and it clogged my pores.
  10. I still get dry even when I shower in cold/normal temperature Regarding the purging.. the acne gets worse and more visible and itching, can it really be purging? I will look into it, thanks Do you use the Facial Moisturizing lotion or just the Moisturizing Lotion? I use the moisturizing lotion. They recently just changed the packaging but this is the one I use. I really do hope it works out for you! It's the only moisturizer that's ever done it's job for me... are you sure there ar
  11. I think the expensive moisturizers like the brands from Sephora are a waste of money. I haven't tried all of them and I'm sure some are great but the ones I have tried sucked. My dermatologist recommended Cerave to me and I'm SO glad he did because I haven't purchased any other moisturizer but that. You can get it at any drugstore like Target, Walmart, etc. It's only about $10 bucks (with tax, here in Canada). What I love about it is it doesn't irritate my skin at all and keeps it moist
  12. I'm 19 and I've just started to get really bad hormonal acne. It's mainly around my chin and lower cheeks. Right now I'm taking Vitex and DIM and it's supposed to regulate my period. I suffer from very irregular/ missed periods. It's almost been a month since I've taken these and the amount of cystic pimples I've been getting has decreased drastically. It's definitely hormonal acne if you have other symptoms that are linked to hormonal imbalance such as: PMS, period troubles, acne mainly ar
