  1. To be honest.. The frst thing i ever did for my scars was fraxel... i had like 5 or 6 and my shallow scars improved. i had some very shallow anlarged pores kinda like pitted scars on the right side that pretty much went away. the scars on my left side which the doc actually thought were going to respond well to fraxel since they dissapeared when the skin was pulled stayed the same after the fraxel tratment. ive had fillers, and still get them done once in a while, they work well on some scars
  2. I took me a while to figure it out too! If you look inside the rim, theres actually 2 pieces of plastic. I use a knife to seperate and lift the inside plastic out. The needle that you use on your face is actually on the other side, protected by the purple plastic piece. It's easy once you get used to it. Hope that makes sense. you can also use tweezers and pull it out holding onto the needle with the tweezers..
  3. so its been about a month since my secone roll and my face looks pretty good! i should have taken pics, but for some reason i didnt.. anyway, my skin looks much better in certain lighting. For example I used to hate looking in the mirror at the gym and now I can without getting depressed. I would say my skin has improved by about 40-50% in the 2 times I have rolled!! Been taking lots and lots of vitamin C, pineapple bromelain, copper, collagen tablets and pretty much anything oral that promote
  4. just thought id post this.. i know there are probably loads of threads regarding celebs and their skin, but i watched employee of the month last night on tv and dane cook has some pretty bad scarring.. i never really knew he had acne scars. considering he was probably wearing loads of makeup and also had some pretty thick facial hair going on you could still see his scars pretty well. just thought id share..
  5. hey lillya, how many times have you rolled? sorry if this has been mentioned already..
  6. a few years after accutane my acne came back but only moderate with occasional cysts. i have not washed my face with any type of soap or cleanser in about a month and my face has never been this clear except for when i finished accutane. i read an interesting article about how washing you face with water only allows your skin to produce its natural oils. i have a friend who had bad cystic acne for years and tried everything and went to almost every derm in the area and the only thing that wor

  8. i know how you feel! its like tghe never ending story and it sucks! what kind of acne do you have?
  9. the fish oil doesnt really alter the ldl directly, but its just good for the heart, which in turn makes things run a bit smoother. i dot think i notice any additional scarring, sometimes i think i do (very small ones) but it might just be in my head. would this have started pretty much right after finishing accutane or could i all of a sudden get symptoms 4 years later? have you tried taking collagen sups? i ordered some hydrolyzed collagen which has 30mg vitamin c, 3,000mg hydrolyzed collage
  10. If it is caused by accutane then avoiding topical or high dose oral vitamin A and omega 3 acids will help stop the scarring. If you are getting spontaneous scarring even when not using these things then i recommend an anti histamine. holy crap, omega 3 as well?? that worries me cuz i take up to 4g of omega 3 fish oil everyday for my heart.. i havnt noticed anything from it though. will this effect everyone who has taken accutane? i took a pretty high dose about 4 years ago... if stopping

  12. yea, i thought that was kinda long too.. but it actually sounds about right if you take your time and make sure to roll all areas and roll going at all 4 angles.. Things like this are becoming very vague in my mind now, i would say about 3 sessions, but it wasn't until i started using individual needling that i got the best of my results... ok, thanks... well, its been about 4 weeks now since my first roll and i gotta say 2 scars i had near my chin that were actually pretty deep see
  13. heres a pretty informative video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izTtHFhLd7Y...feature=related
  14. ive read a similar article as well, but it did not mention wrinkles or aging of the skin, only that the skin hardens over time. i dont really see hard skin as a problem. id rather have hard skin and improved acne scars. the effects of dermarolling are not temporary, your skin is actually healing and reforming collagen. if anything, effects appear better with time. would be interesting to hear other people views...
  15. minty peas: congrats! it is scary the first time not knowing what to expect.
