  1. I finally got my derm to prescribe me minocycline, only to find out my insurance wont pay for it, so a one month supply is $233. As crazy as it sounds, I'm considering buying it -- I'm desperate I know everyone responds differently, so there's no way of knowing if this will defiantly clear my skin up, but I'm just looking for some feedback on it. Is minocycline worth spending over $200? And how quickly does it work?
  2. did you notice if your skin has gotten better or worse when you started taking the supplements? I was taking all of the same thing - vit A, vit D, vit C, zinc, and fish oil, and I noticed my skin tone looked great, but I was getting more and more pimples than I normally would. I think the multi vitamin was taking had a b vitamin in it which can worsen acne. ive since stopped taking all supplements, but I really want to introduce A, D, and fish oil back in. Let me know your thoughts
  3. thanks are you on spiro? I just started last week and have had the worst initial breakout. Im trying to stick with it but am feeling so frustrated
  4. I was prescribed Spironolactone last week. So far my acne has gotten worse, but im hoping its just an initial breakout and will clear soon! I've been reading a lot on how awesome spiro is, but it seems like most women take birth control with it. I'm not on birth control, so I was wondering about the effectiveness of spiro for clearing acne on its own. I know my derm has no problem prescribing it to me while im not on birth control, but will it still work as well?
  5. I know this is an old thread, but wanted to see if it'd become updated if I post on it.. I was prescribed Spiro last week. 6. Thank you so much for your feedback! Right now I am on 100 mg of Spiro. I take one 50mg in the morning and one 50mg at night. I'm not on BCP.. I've been hesitant to get on it, but I talked with my gyno and she will prescribe me yaz as a last resort. Do you think I need to be on BCP in order Spiro to work? Also, I am very interested in hearing about your regimen with the peels you use. Where do you purchase them? Right now I'm using differin, and have been for about 2 months, and still get real
  7. Same thing for me with differin. Been using the gel for at least 2 months now, and it keeps getting worse. I don't know what to do. I'm not sure if its just an initial outbreak and will get better in time, or if my skin just doesn't agree with it. Ugh I'm so fed up.. I wish i had more answers.. good luck to you! Keep updates, I'd love to see if it gets better for you
  8. I totally relate. Literally my every thought is about my acne. I wake up sometimes in the middle of the night and start freaking out if I'm laying on my stomach and my face is touching the pillow. I do the craziest things to try and prevent breakouts, but they keep coming. I sleep with a freaking shower cap on to avoid oils from my hair touching my face, and I wash my face with Poland spring water bc I heard facet water has chlorine in it, which can worsen acne. Every time I try something new I
  9. Ok - a little history on my acne - I experienced none as a teenager, but as soon as I turned 21, BAM, I was hit with what has been the most frustrating battle I could imagine. I am now 25, so for the past four years, I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun, other than Accutane. I have had a few spells over the past few years where it has been manageable, but it always comes back. My skin is extremely oily, and my problem areas are my chin, and the lower parts of my cheeks, just above my jawlin
  10. Please help - need advice!
