  1. I know a lot of people do things at home to save money so I just wondered if anybody had tried it. I have to agree with you that not all derms are good with this!! I would be afraid to try this especially on the face!!!!
  2. Has anyone ever ordered a skin biopsy tool and tried to do punch excision yourself? I have been contemplating it but am afraid to try it. Since we don't have the ability to do stitches one could use glue (this is what I hear doctors are using now since people are complaining of the scars from stitches) and steri-strips.
  3. I had Fraxel Repair done and found it to be a complete waste of money!!!! And it was not cheap by an means. Skins is a little smoother now but I find that my skin seems thinner and scars a lot easier.
  4. Where did you purchase the needles at?
  5. I had two punch excision done on two scars and the derm did what your doctor suggested--stitches and then mending afterwards. The two scars are completely gone with no trace they were even there!!!! Going next week to have more done but with a different derm. I had Fraxel Repair a year ago and that is a waste of money for ice pick scars. Which I would have done my homework on that $3,000 later. Ouch.
  6. Subcision is where they punch the scar out and then stitch it back up. Underming is where she makes an incision and then pulls the skin releasing the scar that is bound down. Derm made is sound like she could cover a wider area with underming. Let you know how it goes. If your md told you that I'd be worried, because it means they don't know the difference between subcision and excision. I don't understand the difference between the two. what is the difference?
  7. I'm agree with you 100% Fraxel Repair is a waste of money. I spent $3,000 for nothing!!!! Would not recommend it to anybody. Have not tried MA Lotion but have reading up on the posts about it. Maybe.

  9. Has anyone ever heard of skin undermining? I went to my derm for a consult for subsicion and I scheduled an appointment for subsicion and underming. She indicated that she make an incision in the skin and pulls away the scar so it is not bound down. Interested to see if anyone has had this done and if it works. I personally prefer subsicion but going to give this a try.
  10. I apologize if this has been asked before but does anybody know how long one needs to wait between needling?
  11. Thanks for the responses. The kind of scars I'm talking about are pinholes. I will check out Amazon for desert essence tea tree oil.
  12. I have had active cysts for eight years now. At one point I had laser surgery done to help clear up the scars and that was a waist of good money. I now have developed tiny little cysts all over my nose and checks. I have been using Clean and Clear with 2% salytic (sp?) and it is making face scar even worse. The cysts dry up and when the dead skin falls off I have a lovely new scar. Can anybody recommend anything that is good for cysts that will not cause scarring? I also use Dermatoliga an
  13. In a word, no. I have used it for years and it did nothing for my scars. It was prescribed to be for cysts because it is a topical antibiotic. Didn't work well on the cysts either.
  14. Glad to hear all is going well for you. As I mentioned, I had my treatment done on September 23. This week my skin is so dry that I am flaking. My derm said three weeks ago that it was time for a retinoid and that I could go back to my regular face wash which is a presription Clenia. My skin is so dry that I have disontinued the retinoid and gone back to the Aquinil wash. I'm sure the weather doesn't help as it is getting much colder out. Just so unusual for me cuz I'm usually oily. Do
  15. Okay, now I too am curious. Do you like in Oklahoma. After I asked if you had the procedures done in Canada, I noticed your post about a Detroit team. Detroit, Michigan? Do you travel to have the procedures done? None of my business, just curious cuz I first thought about it when the derm told me how much she charged and other people have posted $800.00. It would have been worth it to travel but not for all the times one has to go back for the derm to check your skin. I didn't realize tha
