  1. This stuff is very expensive but I started two weeks ago. The jury is still out, but seems very effective for "normal" acne, less so on cystic acne. Though it does seem to tame cystic acne/flatten it slightly, not as effective as cortisone shots.
  2. This is the only treatment I've found that consistently works. Cystic acne is deep, stubborn and seems to be encased in a hard shell which makes it impervious to topical treatments.
  3. Find a new dermatologist who's more current on treatments. I've had good luck with cortisone injections for cystic acne.
  4. My best luck has been cortisone shots.
  5. Best thing I've tried for cystic acne is cortisone shot.
  6. I doubt the efficacy of topicals since cystic acne is hard, deep and seems impervious. It doesn't come to head and isn't "popable." My best luck has been with cortisone shots.
