  1. Retin-A Micro works pretty well for blackheads. Micro is my favorite topical acne med, it makes my skin so smooth and healthy looking. I actually asked my derm to be taken off Accutane early so I could go back to Micro. It gives my skin a nice glow. Be careful on it though, don't pick because it does make your skin more fragile. With proper washing and application of the Micro, your blackheads should diminish.
  2. i'm on accutane right now and i'm getting better grades this semester than i've ever gotten in my 3 years of college. i think it's partly because you can't drink alcohol while on accutane and i'm staying in and studying more rather than going out with my alchoholic friends. accutane hasn't disrupted my concentration or ability to study at all. i'm not sure what revision is, though ?
  3. I have a strange swollen lymph node on my neck that I've had for years. It gets larger and smaller depending on how bad my breakouts are. I told my dermatologist about it once and she told me it was that it was draining my acne infection. I think I remember my grandma telling me that my uncle had to have some of these removed for acne, but I'm not sure. Has anybody had these lumps before? Did anything make them go away? Accutane isn't working for me right now, and it has only made my chin and n

  5. i'd like to know about this too, my dermatologist said she may prescribe some Cortisone if my IB doesn't slow down over the next month.
  6. yep, I'd been on anti-depressants since age 14 and I am now 22. I explained to my dermatologist that if I were to get depressed on Accutane I could easily recognize the warning signs because of my past history with depression. I also explained to her the toll that my acne was taking on my self-esteem and that clearer skin would really boost my confidence. She bought it and I am now on my 3rd month of Accutane. I've felt depressed from time to time on Accutane, but I know it's my already existing
  7. iPledge has been an incredibly frustrating experience for myself and many others, so I thought I'd post how I managed to get through all those demeaning steps and get my prescription filled within 1 day. After recieveing the ugly yellow binder from my dermatologist and letting her know my two preferred forms of birth control, I spent about an hour trying to get through to a human being with the hotline number. I finally lost it and pressed the menu # that allows you to report a pregnancy. What
  8. just because the ingredients are listed as inactive doesn't mean they don't do anything. if they were useless, they wouldn't be there, right? mineral oil absorbs farther into your skin than petrolatum, making lips much more moist and supple. bisabolol is the main ingredient in chamomile extract, i believe, and it has great calming effects on the skin. vaseline is more of just an oitment to protect skin from the elements, while aquaphor protects from the elements while also healing and moisturizi
  9. I'm taken Yasmin for about a year for my hormonal acne. Before that, I took regular Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I am going to switch back to the Ortho Tri-Cyclen soon because I think it worked a lot better on my skin and it worked much better at making periods lighter and lessening cramps in my opinion. Everyone is different, though, it's just a matter of trial and error.
  10. I am on Accutane right now, 80mg/day. Things are going pretty good so far, but I still have a lot of acne on my chin and jawline. Will Accutane help this? I used to take Spironolactone for it, but it didn't make a huge improvement. Will I always have the hormonal acne?
