  1. Hey everyone, I've been dealing with a particularly stubborn breakout for more than a year now and no matter what I put on my face, seems like I can't get my skin back to how it used to be. I even use the same facial products that kept me clear in the past, but I still can't get 100% clear like I was back then. Breakouts would heal very slowly and the quality of my skin was just the worst it's ever been in my life. This may be TMI but I've also been dealing with chronic constipation duri
  2. If you have acne, do you feel anxious driving around in a car? I noticed that when I have a bad breakout I get very nervous when driving next to another car, especially at stop lights and the sun is shining bright on my breakouts. Sometimes I wish I could limo tint my whole car so no one could see inside.
  3. Research lavender oil. Supposed to do wonders mixed into your regular moisturizer.
  4. Well, I still have those cysts on my neck. The cortisone shots didn't budge them after all. I didn't bother getting another round of shots. I'm gonna try another derm and see if I can find a laser treatment for these cysts. I'm at the point where I'm considering having them cut into with a scalpel, but I'd really prefer another less invasive treatment. If anyone out there successfully got rid of their neck cysts, please let me know! I'm running out of patience with these things.
  5. Morning after the shots and my pea cysts already feel softer and smaller. Yes! Still there but noticeably shrunk down and less firm today.
  6. Alright, so I had my derm appointment today, and it went well for the most part. I showed my derm the 2 cysts on my neck that've been there for months and he said, "Yeah, it looks painful just looking at them." The funny thing is they don't even hurt, but they're like permanent peas in my neck. Anyway, he injected them pretty quick and said it should dry them up in a couple days. He also put me on a month-long course of 100 mg Doxycycline antibiotic. When I picked up my prescription
  7. Thanks, I'll definitely keep that in mind. I really can't have any surgical procedure for fear of keloiding, so I'll see what the derm says next week. Keloids on my neck would be much worse than these under the skin bumps.
  8. Thanks for the reply. I've heard about possible atrophy and I really hope it doesn't happen to me. But I think I'm willing to risk it. I'm just very tired of feeling these cyst bumps in my neck month after month with no change. I can feel the material stuck inside them and it makes me cringe. Not to mention they make my neck look horribly bumpy in direct light. I've also heard about derms slicing these things open but that's something I will absolutely not try. My family is high risk to keloi
  9. I went through a really bad breakout last year and have been using a benzoyl peroxide wash to help clear up my face. Most of the blemishes have cleared away, but I have a few lingering cysts in my neck area that are driving me crazy. They've been there since last year and won't budge at all or come to a head. I've tried chemical peels, facial steaming, heat pads, etc. They don't hurt or look red, but they just sit there on my neck like small pea-like bumps. I have about 3. I can't make them
  10. Mods please delete
  11. Severe acne does turn me off, but mild acne can be endearing. A flawless face on the other hand is very intimidating, but nice to see.
  12. It could work. Research "Botchla Regimen". This regimen uses SA to unclog pores and prepare your skin for BP which disinfects and kills acne bacteria.
  13. Sending naked pics to anyone is a risky thing. You never know, those same pics could come back to haunt you in the future. People change, and naked pics can be very detrimental to someone's professional image if landed in the wrong hands.
  14. Don't go overboard with moisturizer, you could clog up your pores and cause more breakouts. Try one pump morning and night after cleansing.
  15. Try a moisturizer with BHA or AHA
  16. I didn't mean that acne is literally like pneumonia, I meant to point out that they're both bacterial infections of the body. Acne just happens to be a bacterial infection of the skin. The root cause may be something else, but bacteria is always present in acne lesions. I shave daily and I remember when I was younger I didn't know that I should be disinfecting my face after each shave. Each time I knicked or cut open my skin, I was letting bacteria inside the surface. I didn't know this was th
  17. lostinthefog87, what's your current regimen like and how's your skin? I agree with others that using too many topicals ruins the skin's natural ability to heal itself, but I also believe in the known science of acne. Mainly that excess bacteria is one of the main issues of acne. That's why I cringe when I think of acne spots being unwashed, untreated, etc. Bacteria fester and spread around, and unless you have a top notch immune system, it could get worse if you just leave it alone. It w
  18. You need to be very careful. I completely understand where you're coming from, but acne is a complicated condition. I know you'd love to just drop all your products and forget about everything, but you risk your acne getting out of control. Bacterial infections are real so you need to make sure you don't let your "acne bacteria" get out of control. If you stop everything, just imagine all the microorganisms colonizing in every nook and cranny of your face, unchecked. Instead of quitting ever
  19. Topical Benzoyl Peroxide helped my cystic acne, deep under the skin blemishes, but over the course of several weeks. There isn't a quick fix for cystic acne and you also need to rely on your body to combat the infection, which doesn't happen overnight.
  20. Trying this again. I got fed up with putting so much chemical crap on my face day & night, so I've been doing this simple regimen for almost 2 weeks now. Wash my face, then splash witch hazel all over my face with my bare hands. I shave everyday so this doubles as an aftershave for me as well. My face looks alot more "matte" throughout the day compared to when I was using a moisturizer. I was dry and a bit flakey around my mouth for the first week but that's gone away. I've also
  21. You're very pretty. Look into Dermarolling for those scars. You can even do it yourself at home with the right tools and technique. Just make sure to research beforehand. I think it can really help improve your condition.
  22. ACV naturally balances out the microflora in your system and restores function to your liver, etc. You can also use it as a toner. It's currently the only treatment I'm using and my face looks really good.
  23. Hey there. Please look into Raw organic Apple Cider Vinegar. I also used BP and other chemicals for years. I just switched over to ACV and it's working very well. My skin looks so much healthier now. I wash with a simple, gentle cleanser, then use a toner made with 1 part water, 1 part vinegar. I use a cottonball to spread this on my face morning and night. I don't put anything else on my face and my skin feels very balanced all the time. I also drink 2 tablespoons in a glass of water twice
