  1. If it is true allergy, then you can be tested for it by a doctor. However, most skin irritations are not true allergies, they are just irritations. Unfortunatly there is no way to know exactly what irritates you except to go "cave man" and eliminate everything, then add elements back in one by one to see what causes a reaction. I switched to scent free, dye free detergent, shampoo, conditioner, + body lotion, and think that it helped, but am really not sure, since i started Dan's regi
  2. You might be touching your face to "check" the existing acne and actually creating more (amazing how often I want to know if it is still there! I asked my boyfrined to tell me everytime I touched my face, and I was shocked at how often I did it without even realizing it. I have gone "cold turkey"-- no more touching my face unless I have washed my hands first, and need to apply something or remove a bit of flaky moisturizer) I am certain that not touching really helped Dan's regimen to work on
  3. The world could use a little more gentleness in general! Are you guys dancing around the notion that cosmetics companies are selling us products that appear to alleviate the cause of acne (e.g. if your skin is CLEANER...) but in fact just keep us addicted to constantly buying new, increasingly expensive products by creating the very irritations that cause acne? Say it isn't so! I'm ready to come out an say it-- no one has a patent on BP, rendering it unprofitable as a pharmaceutical. I
  4. Rub it in, but very very gently. I just use my fingertips to remind myself to be gentle. Rubbing too hard causes irritation, which can cause acne. Check out Dan's videos.
  5. I posted this on the Regimen board about snail goo for acne, but is is just as apropos here, particularly with regard to a pyramid scheme touting mail order "Natural and Holistic" pills . . . What I am more sick of than the "________ for acne" posts from the curious, desperate or confused are the people or companies (most of all, but not limited to the major drug and cosmetics companies) who are looking to make loads of $$$ off of the desperation of people with acne. It's like we're sitting
  6. Do you have acne? If so, try Dan's regimen exactly as described on his website. If you have more questions (such as where to get the right products in Germany), please post them to the "Regimen" section of the board.
  7. I use the purpose liquid cleanser with the Regimen, and really like it. It does not overdry my skin (although i always moisturize). I don't reccomend the Dove because it has potentially pore clogging wax in it.
  8. I'll second that. I have had bad experiences combining the BP and SA. I don't think SA actually does anything. Beware of companies trying to sell you things.
  9. I had millions of little, 1mm whiteheads on my forehead. Dan's regimen worked like a charm in a few weeks-- I don't have a single one, my forehead is 100% smooth and soft. I reccomend trying the regimen before you try the prescription meds.
  10. BSoD, try to be nice-- you have to play well with others. What I am more sick of than the "________ for acne" posts from the curious, desparate or confused are the people or companies (most of all, but not limited to the major drug and cosmetics companies) who are looking to make loads of $$$ off of the desperation of people with acne. It's like we're sitting ducks, willing to try anything, as evidenced by the collective hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on ineffective treatments by the
  11. Speaking as an 8-glass of water a day girl with a bladder the size of a kidney bean, the benefits of lots of water (healthy skin, eyes, stomach, no bloating or headaches) far outweigh the 18 trips I have to make to the bathroom. The real killer is when I have to stay in court (i am a lawyer) or a deposition with lots of male lawyers and judges who are like camels!
  12. I started to use it after 3 weeks on Dan's regimen (after the redness from the BP had subsided). The first two days, my skin was slightly irritated, but since then it has worked wonderfully. I like it better than the Neutrogena Moisture, which worked well, but seemed a little shiny and greasy at times (I have dry skin, and used quite a bit). The Eucerin makes my face very soft and smooth, and I don't find that my face is dry in the middle of the day. It is definitly worth a try if your s
  13. Everyone is ifferent, but I had nasty whiteheads (both the big kind, and the little tiny millions of them kind) and Dan's regimen worked 150% on the little ones and 99% on the big ones.
  14. Yep. I looked like a red faced baboons ass the first time I overdid the BP. Not too pretty. To cure: Stop for a few days, until the redness subsides. Start over again, just at night. Use less BP than Dan suggests, then slowly ramp up the dosage. Then start BP in the morning, just a little, then ramp up. I would suggest using Dan's reccommended "tried and true" moisturizers morning and night, and whenever your skin feels dry in between. I did it this way, and had very little redn
