  1. Tanning initally dries up oil, but then your skin over compensates and produces more, so basically you look ok for a bit and then your skin gets worse. what's the point?! Not to mention wrinkles. Have you seen those middle aged women who look like leather handbags?! Is that attractive? i don't think so, and those are the same women who started tanning in their twenties thinking it made them look "healthy". I would rather have pale smooth skin a la Nicole Kidman, then wrinkly tanned skin like a c
  2. warm compress can work depending on how deep it is, sometimes the only thing you can do is go to your derm and get it injected. That is what I do when I get a cyst. It's better to have it injected then try to pop it and have it go deeper into the pore and aggrviate other pores surrounding it, that is why it keeps getting bigger. Plus when its injected...no scaring!
  3. The Biore pore strips work, but your blackheads come back. i've heard they aggrivate pores and are worthless.
  4. Mask I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. Know that you are not alone and there are so many people out there who know exactly where you are coming from. I am a 23 year old woman who had acne as a teenager. I get a small breakout every now and then, so i am not about to tell you you'll be crystal clear, but things will get better. Stick to Accutane if its working for you. The one thing I have noticed in adulthood is men who had or have had acne understand the that true beauty comes from
  5. Of course! That's the story of my life! Did some picking yesterday which made my mild acne MUCH worse! Thats the bad thing about looking at your spots, you end up touching them! Anyway I totally feel you Chaz, Sola
  6. Hey Ready 2 Quit, sitting at my office right now too. Office lights have to be the most unflattering things ever! I hate them! Luckly I sit with a guy with acne so I don't feel quite as bad, but everyone else is clear skinned. I get a lot of "you're so pretty!" but I know they are thinking "you would be really pretty if you had clear skin!" maybe that is just me thinking the worst, I don't know, all I know is at the end of the day your life is your own you gotta take control of it and not let i
  7. Honestly the only think that i have ever found that works is getting injections from your derm. I am going to get one today! Depending on the size you might have to go twice, but they go away fast after the injections, usually by the next day.
  8. I have the exact same thing. I have very mild acne yet I get these lumps that are so far under the surface they stay there forever and never come to a head. they don't even hurt, but they are noticable. The only way I have found to get rid of them is to go to the derm and have them injected. It goes away pretty instantly with the injection (by the next morning), but depending on the size you might have to go twice.

I have mild acne, but I have had this happen to me four times in my life, twice on my back (where I never break out) and twice on my cheek-always in the same spot. It's almost like a little stone, it comes out solid and leave a huge whole in my face. I asked my derm and the guy had no clue what it was, I posted it on this site and no one had had a similar experience. glad to hear I'm not alone.
  10. You are NOT Crazy! I can't think of how many weekends I have spent at the cottage with my closest friends, trips to Mexico, Europe, Montreal, New York...some of the best experiences of my life that I was going to miss becuase of acne. I was so jealous that my friends would wake up and run to the beach or throw on some jeans and be ready to go shopping, meanwhile I am waking up an hour earlier to apply makeup. But you know what? I am so happy I threw caution to the wind and went on those trips be
  11. I'm from Canada and i'm pretty sure Canada and England have similar drug laws, meaning the States has a lot more stuff on the market then we do. Anyway, the Canadian version of Neo is Polysporin, basically the same thing...look for that in England
  12. Your "friend" sounds like a real ass
  13. I agree with Catch 22 100%. It is society that makes women feel they have to look a certain way to be accepted. How often do you see men in the media that are seen as sexy (example: Sean Conery, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump...) I am not saying these men aren't sexy, but they are not sexy based on their looks, it is based on there intelligence, confidence, power and status. Now you look at the same type of women, say Oprah or Hilary Clinton, sure they're respected, but very seldom are they looked a
  14. I use the exact same concealer from Mac, same number and everything! It has been in my life since I was 14 and I thought I would never part with it, but recently I've noticed it doesn't work well and I need to try something new. Plus I don't like the concealers in the pots because you get your fingers in there adn it spreads bacteria. Anyway I am going to try loreal's new concealer, it like a little pencil and is suppose to conceal and heal acne, will keep you posted, Sola
