  1. hey mouse, just though i'd say that i went on accutane about four months ago, 20 mg a day, admittedly my skin wasnt awful i just got really bad cysts, and literally as soon as i started on accutane, they went and i havent had one spot or cyst since, didnt even get that initial breakout that everyone talks about. The only side effect i've had is a bit of eczema on my arms as a result of 'drying out' but so far, im really positive about accutane...
  2. ...I had cysts and apart from them my skin was clear, so the regimen didnt really help. I started on accutane and literally straight after i started, no more cysts, and i havent had any since touch wood...
  3. cheers! I'll give it a go.. they were freaking me out for a bit there.....!
  4. hey guys, i was just wondering that out of you who went on roaccutane, did anyone develop the wierdest little bumps on your body? They're unsqueezable cause nothing comes out, and theyre not red and painful.. its very odd. And how about getting other skin complaints, like eczema, devloping? My acne has gone completeley, touch wood, but now i have these little bumps.......
  5. ok this sounds really bizarre but im wondering if it works. Seeing as how i dont have any red eye drops on hand, I thought i'd spread the word and get someone else to do the whole guinea pig thing. I read that if you have a mildly red pimple, dab on eye drops for clearing red eyes. In theory, I can see how it works. But in practice? let me know how you get on.... note: this wasnt for scarring
  6. Hey there, I've read on a few medical sites, although i cant remember which now, that 2.5% BP has the same effect on acne as 5%. So its a case of either or i think, no significant difference... dont know anything bout that pill tho!!
  7. hey timbo, Im using the only brand I could find in Aus, clearisil 5% and I moisturise twice daily... I stopped using the cream on that area and the redness has gone and its not so dry. No more break outs.. but i dont want to start using it again if thats what its going to do!!
  8. hey bagap, I think im in exactly the same boat as you I get told that all the time, and sure, my skin is clear a lot of the time, but when I do get pimples, they are really painful and I wont even leave the house. I suggest you see another dermatologist, go without makeup (i know, its a horrible thought!) and dont settle for that same old line 'its not that bad' There is a lot of treatment out there and its not fair of the dermatologist to shrug it off. I had a really awful one who basically sa
  9. hey, Ive been using 5% BP for a weekor so, and i thought cause i got quite blocked pores that didnt develop into acne, i would use it around my chin area to clear that up. But now i've got really rough skin and little pimples is this what normally happens at the start of using this cream??
  10. Hi, I've just started using BP again only Im baffled, cause my skin doesnt even turn remotely red or sensitive, even when totally slathered on, or rubbed in. Is my skin not going to react to it?? The cream i use is 5%, so stronger than Dans recommendation of 2.5, but i couldnt find any of that percentage. Surely though you'd expect my skin to flare up even more red, not the opposite?!!!
  11. Garkee, It has been proven that PCOD causes acne in females, because it is an imbalance in hormones where the testosterone is more active. As ya know, testosterone is the cause of acne and this is a major side effect in sufferers....
  12. hey Satori, I suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome too, and how much does it suck?? I only suffer from the acne side effect also, and have been treated with Diane 35 ed for about two years. At times, this has been supplemented with aldactone, 100 mg but to no avail. I still have outbreaks, but because it is not serious the doctors wont treat me with anything much different than the standard antibiotics which ive been on since age 13. Because I have known serious acne, I am very insecure even no

  14. hey all, a more simple and cheap solution!! I know it doesnt work at the root of the problem but.. oil absorbing sheets (or Shine Control Paper) work a treat, and dont cost the earth. Im not sure if you can get them in the states, but as you guys seem to get everything before us, no doubt you'll find them somewhere.. try the Body Shop.. I brought some for 99p (about 1.50 US Dollars) in england when i was there, and there are about 70 pocket sized sheets. They have an oil absorbing powder that
  15. Hey there, I had a face peel done almost a year ago which absolutely removed my pigmentation scarring and left me a very happy person Unfortunately, because I still get pimples, the scars are still occuring, but if you have grown out of it I really suggest looking into these face peels!! xxx
