  1. Update ** Ended up stopping sometime time last fall and starting again in January 2016... it's been about 6 months now on a steady dose of 100 mg and there's still no improvement or reduction in my oily skin.. No acne though.. Guess androgens aren't the only cause..?
  2. after 5 months its still working for me.. every time I stop taking it I get oily again.
  3. You may need a higher dose- 1000IU for every 25 pounds.
  4. Hey guys..always just been curious about this as there is so much debate whether or not acne products (BP, exfoliators etc..) can cause the skin to become more oily? Does stripping the skin really cause more oil to be produced? Or is it ALL internal... Thoughts?
  5. Officially 1 week and I've seen a major major reduction in oil... Taking 5000IU daily. Never seen a reduction this quick before! Crossing my fingers it sticks.
  6. is anyone STILL clear or have reduced oily from taking vitamin D?
  7. So I'm a little confused. I've made a couple posts/comments about how I'd been taking Spiro or..what I thought was Spiro? for over a year at 25mg twice a day with NO improvement. Keep in mind I did thnk about how the dose might have been too low. On a wim I researched " Teva-Spironolactone" because thats what it was called as I live in Canada..I think generics aren't different in the states. Turns out it's half spironolactone and half hydrochlorothiazide. Whereas "Aldactone" which is the bra
  8. Did you stay less oily on the 100mg? I haven't seen results yet being on 100 mg and its been a year.. just upped my dose
  9. Hey guys..I've noticed the last month or so I'm a lot less oily after waking up in the morning. Meaning during the night I produce a lot less oily than during the day. The only thing I use different at night is my " naturally yours hylauronic acid developper" from GoW..which has niacimanide in it.. However in the morning I use moisturizier with spf which is equally as moisturizing and I'm oily by 9 am. Could it be a hormone that is less active at night…?
  10. mine too!!!! any particular reason you guys have come up with?
  11. I'm from Canada too and took " Teva-Spironolactone" for a year without any improvement in my oil.. I recent just switched to Aldactone the brand name to see if it would make any difference. Did u have any luck with yours?

  13. 200 mg worked for you? meaning 100mg didn't?
  14. Hey guys..which of the above is the stronger anti androgen? Spiro or Diane-35 (Cyproterone Acetate) Tried researching it but there's not much info.
  15. Can someone please explain to me the difference between having oily skin from GENETICS and having oily skin because of hormones? How does this relate to androgens? I don't understand... from everything I've read it's pretty clear some people just have larger sebaceous glands and therefore produce more oil. But sebum production is caused by excess androgens. SO if someone is taking an anti-androgen (for example spiro)..which blocks androgens..would the oily skin not stop regardless of if it's c
