  1. This Thursday (8:00pm on ABC), Extreme Makeover is helping a girl who has acne scarring. It'll be interesting to see what they do and the results she gets! Maybe it's something that will be able to help us all.
  2. Thank you for the information, Think Positive. That's one less thing I will waste my money on!
  3. Oh, thanks. I thought she said it was a cream, but maybe it was isologen.
  4. Has anyone heard of tamanu oil? I read an article about it in a health magazine a couple of months ago, and it mentioned that it's great for acne scars. I haven't found it in the stores yet, so I haven't tried it. Has anyone else tried it?
  5. I was just talking to my mother-in-law, and she said she saw something on the news about a new acne scar medication that was like a "miaracle" (her words). She said the before and after pictures were amazing. Unfortunately, she couldn't remember what the product was! Does anyone know anything about this? I've been trying to search for something on the Internet, but haven't found anything yet.
  6. The amazing thing is, I read some press release on Smoothbeam, and a Dr. from the University of Pennsylvania was the one doing studies on it. And yet, no one around here even knows of it? Unbelievable! I don't know if the Ultra-Pulse would be acceptable? Smoothbeam just seems to be the way to go at this point. Then again, you never know!
  7. Bruce - Thanks for the website! ObiWonton - You're right, but insurance is a pain. I used to have an awesome derm, but my insurance got switched, and now I'm stuck with this guy. I'll have to see if I can get a referral for a new (hopefully better) dr. MaryTheres- Sorry to hear that Dr. Greenbaum doesn't have Smoothbeam. I'm not sure how the top laser specialist in the area doesn't have the latest equipment?? The smoothbeam site says the closest place is Allentown. Is that very far for yo
  8. MaryTheres- I completely agree with you. There has to be someone in the Philly area who has it. My Dr. did give me the name of a doctor in Philly and says he is the top laser specialist around (Dr. Greenbaum). I haven't found out if he has smoothbeam yet. I first wanted to see if there are any places in the suburbs, since that's where I live. ylem- I don't know why doctors keep saying smoothbeam doesn't work. I don't really like this guy anyway, I don't trust him. So, I'm not taking his word
  9. Hi all- I've been reading this message board for a while now (over a year), but never posted. I've been reading a lot about Smoothbeam and am very interested in it (although my Dr. told me it wouldn't do anything for me). Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone watches the show Extreme Makeover? Someone on there had Smoothbeam laser treatments for her acne scars. I thought it was interesting that they had it on there. Anyone know of an office with Smoothbeam in the Philly area? I check
