  1. Sorry to jump into your log but I am about to pick up my first pack of accutane tomorrow and I needed to get some input: I am going on to New York on the 17th-21st and didn't know if I should risk getting a (initial) break out or extremely dry skin/lips during my trip. Based on everyone's experience would you guys recommend starting my doses tomorrow when I pick it up (10th) or possibly compromise and start my doses on the 14th, or completely wait till after my trip to begin? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    * I have moderate persistent acne, prescribed 40mg.... Thanks

  3. I just got my third two days ago, all my marks for the first and second day were EXTREMELY red and right one they're redder than to begin with but going down. As the days go on, the scars will begin lightening. I have a couple of cute little bruises haha, but with time it will look good :). If you want to keep updating, go for it! I'm here with you! Any concerns or questions, let me know!instead of "redder one.." it's support to be redder now. Stupid autocorrect.

I'm looking into Vbeam for my scars. Did you go out in public right after? Could you cover the bruising with makeup?

What were the costs of each of your treatments?

  4. Has anyone had success using a tinted moisturizer to cover dark marks, red marks, and hyper pigmentation? I am a guy and don't want to deal with using makeup for days when I don't see a lot of people. Just something that will help me forget I have marks on my face when I look in the mirror or just go to the grocery store. Any help would be great.

  5. Here is the best picture I can take at the moment. My ipad picture isn't as clear as I would like it to be. But essentially there is redness with a small white area within the redness. I will try to post clearer pictures as soon as I can.

Sorry after looking at the picture I posted it really does not look like it does in real life. Just picture a darker red and whiter white in the middle. * this is my arm by the way.

  6. The area looks inflamed, and kind of like a flat volcano with the red underneath and a semi think white cover. Please let me know, I did stop by the dermatologist for a facial extraction of whiteheads and blackheads and the dermatologist assistance said to make a appointment if I really wanted to ask the derm (very dumb and annoying since the derm was in the other room and would of taken 2 seconds of her day). Please help if you can....

  7. My question: Is accutane a possibility for me?

I have moderate adult acne for the past year, and have been prescribed things like acanya, atralin, tri luma, and all have made my skin worse. Also I have taken minocyline pills the last 6 months. Right now I started a new regiment for the past 2 weeks using clindamycin gel in the morning and ziana in the evening, I also take 75mg of minocyline pills in the morning. My face is not producing many new big pimples or zits, but I have a lot of discoloration, hyper pigmentation, and new small ball like scars from hard/clear see through like balls forming once or twice a week. *also have minor back and chest acne.

At this rate I know that my current regiment will heal my face slightly but I have have a feeling that if I take accutane in low doses it could do a complete 180 on my face and allow me to live my life without having to wear make up as a guy.

Please help and any addition info would be great. I know accutane is for severe cystic acne and has a lot of possible side effects, but mine has been extremely persistent and has not really shown much improvement over the last year with retinoids and other topicals because basically my face has continued to become worse with spots and dark marks to the point where I stay inside all day, or have to put make up on to feel normal. Please help if you can or how your face was before starting accutane :). I am going to the dermatologist this week and planning to ask to get on accutane.
