  1. I went to Ron Shelton (http://www.realself.com/find/New-York/New-York-City/Dermatologist/Ronald-Shelton) who's listed as one of the best NYC docs for Fraxel about re:pair and he told me: 1) it's only done once not multiple times (i keep reading people get it done multiple times) AND 2) even if i only got my cheeks done, it would cost $8k!!! after reading all these posts, these both seem totally wrong/off. has anyone else seen this guy? he seemed very cool and knowledgeable but it seems t
  2. I called Dr Gordon today and was referred to a Dr Ronald Shelton. Will let you all know how it goes. Has anyone heard of this doc? Been to him??
  3. I'm currently getting Juvederm from Dr Gordon in New York. While it's working relatively well, there are ice pick scars that it doesn't help and it would be great to work on all of my scars and get better skin texture. Dr Gordon says of all the lasers, Fraxel re:pair is the only one she sees where there is promise for helping acne scars (at least the ones I have which are rolling and some ice picks on my cheeks which almost disappear if I pull the skin-- for everyone who's going to ask).

  5. I go to Dr Gordon at Mount Sanai and get Juvederm for scars on my cheeks. While it's not 100% improvement, it makes it much better. She's an amazing doctor and will listen to you when you tell her what you see and what you want filled in. They say it lasts 6+ months. I'd say it's more like 4ish, but it's better than nothing. It costs $750 per treatment. She's also said that she thinks there is promise with Fraxel:repair. Next time I go I'm going to ask her for a recommendation b/c even wi
  6. that's moderate scarring? i'd say it's MILD. very mild.
  7. Your scars are similar (not identical) to mine and I'm doing fillers for now until I figure out which resurfacing procedure is best and can afford to spend all the money at once for Fraxel or another resurfacing procedure. I'm getting Juvederm injections now to plump the skin. While it doesn't completely erase the scars, filling the dermis below makes the scars very soft and I love how it looks. I'm going again tomorrow for another round. The last one was at the beginning of May and cost $7
  8. Moon Face: why would you write "damn these are bad." as a response to someone's posting? it's good to be realistic/honest, but that's your opinion. what is the point of writing something like that? we need to be honest with each other, but don't be rude. stick to saying things that pertain to his question and leave it at that.
  9. kayegirl: very well put. i too get juvaderm and collagen injections, which have greatly improved things, but they don't last more than 4 mos for me, which makes it pricey. they also don't totally fix the scars, but the improvement is amazing. can you you share your routine? i'd love to hear it. i need to start doing something more than the injections to keep things looking good. thanks in advance.
  10. tricia. thanks!! ctbo: for $15, just get some. i dont think its doing anything so major that anyone's going to post before and after pics. just buy some and see what happens. you gotta try stuff and see what works. i'm not saying it's changed my life, but the texture of my skin seems better. a little "plumper" maybe. it could also be a million other things, but i'm rolling with it for now b/c it's not that expensive and it's not hurting me.
  11. Great advice! Let's us know how that goes for you, ok? I have a feeling this is what happens when you go see Dr. Z: you go in, he looks at your acne, gives you a bottle of ProActiv and charges you $150. I know you're joking, but I'd NEVER go to this guy for anything, let alone any kind of surgery.
  12. someone mentioned in a previous reply that the hyaluronic acid in this stuff is the same as some wrinkle or aging treatments and you get a lot more for the same cost. can someone tell me what these are? i was at walgreens the other day and there are so many things in the anti aging, get rid of wrinkles, smooth your skin section, it made my head spin. i got this stuff and like it, but if i can get something similar in a larger size for the same amount of $$$ i'd rather do that. thanks!
  13. anyone been? effective? costly? details would be great. thanks for the info.
  14. come on people. someone in nyc has to have info. anyone have fraxel doc info? results? happy? you're probably long gone from this site, but i'm hoping...
