  1. I was considering a spray bottle as well! I'm lazy, it seems more convienent. I'm so glad you decided to give this a try though let me know what you think. Even if you don't have any "dramatic" change, I'm sure it will work as a great moisturizer It's actually a good idea that you started off with using a less amount of the niacinamide though. I should probably mention that most the studies were done with about a 4-5% solution. At high levels though, it should still be fine and non-ir
  2. ^ Nope, the only thing I drink is water... I'm sure the caffeine was what caused the negative effect on my skin.
  3. I myself am convinced that green tea breaks me out. I remember I drank green tea a ton, months ago. My skin always seemed so much worse when I drank it, which caused me to give it up all together. My skin has been 98% clear for the past couple months now.. only a couple zits here and there due to PMS. A few days ago, I wanted something warm and soothing to drink that would also wake me up, so I decided to have green tea. I drank about 3 glasses each day for the past 3 days. Immediately, a
  4. I'm happy you enjoyed it! It's an apple cider vinegar recipe http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Queen-of-Hun...r&id=679963 if you google it you'll find slight variations of recipes for this-cos' the exact recipe used by the gypsies is not fully known Ohhh looks very interesting! The first paragraph jumped out at me most... marriage proposals at 80? Damn lol No problem!! And thank you
  5. ^ Thanks! Though I do look quite horrid in that video May I ask what the queens water recipe is?
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcBUjV7ihzE I must apologize, I look like I got zero sleep haha. Next time, I know to wear at least a little bit of eyeliner in my videos so I don't look like I'm 12 years old. About halfway through, the video footage and audio stops matching, so please excuse that
  7. According to this site, mineral oil is non comedogenic- http://www.zerozits.com/Articles/acne_detective/article6.htm Like I mentioned before though, it "suffocates" the skin by coating it, so the skin can't breathe/release toxins. Surely that can probably cause major problems for acne prone skin, if used in large amounts.
  8. Don't worry. Baby oil is just mineral oil. The molecule structure of mineral oil is too big to penetrate pores to actually clog them. It does, however, coat the skin, I guess suffocating it, so it would be a good idea to give yourself a good wash after! I'm sure you'd want to do that anyways
  9. I had hoooooooorrrble red marks (damn my pale skin!) and lots of shallow scarring on my forehead, temples and some on my cheeks. My red marks were very hard to fade, but with time, exfoliation, natural bleaching, and finacea, they are getting better by the day. As you see, they aren't that bad now. My shallow scarring seems to be filling in a little bit as well, I hope that continues.
  10. Hello! I thought it would be a good idea to have an official thread where everyone posts their success stories. There are a lot of negative posts out there about accutane, and though these negative side effects are very important to be aware of, I think people should see the positive effects as well so they are not completely discouraged. I got this idea from this person's success story right here. I hope there isn't a thread already like this, because I couldn't find one. Here's my story
  11. Hey, are you still using NAC at all? Also, what brand did you use before? I've been doing the whole "treating my body as if I'm diabetic" method (as mentioned in your sig) for almost a couple months now, and it's definitely working. Now I'm just trying to find the best supplmenet to control my insulin levels and reducing insulin resistance. NAC seems to be very promising from the studies I have read...
  12. I don't know of any foods to lower blood sugar levels in particular, but I'd suggest you take cinnamon, alpha lipoic acid, and chromium to do that job
  13. Ohh your post makes me feel a lot better, thanks Yeah I've noticed there's been conflicting studies about glycolic acid. Some say that it thins the skin and will someday increase aging, but most say that it will do the exact opposite and encourage the growth of collagen. I hope it's the latter
  14. Hello I'm hoping to add in a glycolic acid of some sort to my regimen to prevent acne, treat scars, help slow down the aging process, etc. I've heard a couple different things though about using AHA's long term. One thing I read is that it will *help* increase collagen and elastin and reduce wrinkles and fine lines in the future. The other thing I read was that it can actually make skin WORSE off in the future, making it more vunerable to aging. I can't find the actual study, but the quo
  15. one word. Honey Very moisturizing, plus antibacterial. Make sure you get an organic "unheated" kind.
  16. ^ Still a revlon colorstay & coty airspun addict I see. My new list- 1] TWEEZERS..... oh man, I have like 6 pairs. I will never let my eyebrows get untamed! Speaking of which... I saw a few strays earlier that I still have to get 2] Remington teflon flat iron. Gets SO hot, yet makes my hair very straight with a bit of a shine. Best straightener I've used yet, out of the drugstore brands. 3] Maybelline great lash mascara in "Royal Blue"... makes my eyes pop 4 Physicians Formula mine
  17. ^ Mind you, I was on accutane, which cleared me up for the most part. Now with the help of a good diet and gentle skin routine, thats whats keeping me clear. The finacea is mostly just helping with my red marks, but I'm sure it's helping my skin prevent pimples as well. I hope at least
  18. Better "after" pics.. more truthful lighting. http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/3056/picture3349sd1.jpg http://img353.imageshack.us/img353/6534/picture3352dt9.jpg It's a bit redder in real life and natural lighting, but eh, you get the idea. I'll take shallow scarring pics soon or something. Another thing I unfortunately have to deal with.
  19. Actually, those "after pictures" are doing me too much justice I think. I retook a couple of pics now in better, more truthful lighting. http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/3056/picture3349sd1.jpg http://img353.imageshack.us/img353/6534/picture3352dt9.jpg
  20. ^ Yeah I'm loving finacea so far I've only been using it for a little over a month, but I have an INCREDIBLE difference in my red marks that I've been battling for so long. This is probably the only thing that *truly* helped fade my marks. I think it's helping to keep me clear as well. I'm hooked for life. Here's a quick before and after if you're interested lol Before- (pic was taken months ago and only faded a TINY bit before using finacea) http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/9082/pictu
  21. There are also studies that when borage oil (or evening primrose oil, anything with GLA), is applied topically to the skin, it inhibits DHT. Inhibiting DHT can mean a reduction in acne (and can help with hair loss and unwanted hair as well. I should start rubbing EPO on my legs, maybe it will make hair grow in extra slow )
