  1. Could anyone tell me if there is a difference between the IPL used for acne scars and the IPL (Fotofacial) used for rosacea? I've had probably 8 or more IPL (Fotofacial) sessions for rosacea, but my scars haven't improved any. Just wondering if it's a totally different type of machine, or different settings, or...?
  2. I've had 7 or 8 IPL sessions (Fotofacial) for rosacea and my scars haven't improved at all. My aesthetician came right out and said that the chance of it helping scars are slim to none. As for hyperpigmentation, I don't know...
  3. Thanks for all the info Phil! How can this place charge so little and the other place in Minneapolis that does Smoothbeam charges somewhere around $500 full face???!! How satisfied are you with SpaMede? I mean the procedure itself, the staff, etc.? Do you know if they offer a discount for doing only certain areas of the face? Please keep me updated with your Smoothbeam progress at SpaMede.
  4. On your website you mention that there's a place in Minneapolis that does full face Smoothbeam for $100 - could you post some info about this place? Thanks in advance!
  5. Seal wasn't shot in the face, I believe he had some form of lupus.
  6. Please please please don't do business with them in the future. I hate to be rude, but they are complete MORONS. I ordered several items from them a few years ago because the prices were good. I don't remember exactly what happened, but I had some problem with the items or the shipping or something, and getting any help from them was IMPOSSIBLE. It took me literally 6 months to get things cleared up. My mom tried to order stuff from them and she too had major problems. Their prices may b
  7. GalacticMikey, are you around?? I'm extremely curious to hear about your Smoothbeam session in MN! If you've got the time, please give me all the details Thanks!
  8. People keep saying how selfish it was of Marc to do this to his family. Sure it would have been selfish if he had been able to think clearly. But most people who are that depressed and suicidal don't have that ability. Please read up on what depression can do to your mind and reasoning abilities. Marc wasn't being selfish, he was just in so much pain that he couldn't deal with it anymore. I think many of us on these boards have been depressed and contimplated suicide. I'd like to think
  9. I thought I had responsed to this yesterday, but I guess not... Since Feb. I've had 6 Fotofacials for rosacea. I've worked my way up to a fairly high setting (though I don't remember the numbers offhand) but it has done nothing for my scars. Most of my larger pores are on my nose and I'm not having that done. According to my aesthetician, FF should help large pores, but she said it wouldn't do much for scars.
  10. GalacticMikey, are you around yet?? I believe you were supposed to have your SB treatment in MN yesterday. I would love to hear about your experiences, since I'm still considering going there. Hope it went well!
  11. Where to start... I had mild to moderate acne up until 9th grade, when the cystic acne began. I was passing out papers in my math class and some moron says "what the hell is wrong with your nose??!!" (which is where the cyst just happened to be, so I looked like rudolph with a huge bump). By this time I was so sick of people asking me about - mostly friends who were concerned - that I said to him quietly so no one else would hear, but in a very stern tone "if you mention anything again you'l
  12. This may have been asked before but unfortunately I don't have the time right now to sift through all the old posts. Anyway, I was wondering if there is a difference between different brands of Emu Oil? I was told by Skin Biology that with my rosacea I could try CP Serum and emu oil for my scars. However their emu oil is fairly expensive compared to several other companies that I've checked out. Just wondering if it's worth the extra price. Thanks everyone!
  13. Thanks for such a quick reply! The Twin Cities are about 3 1/2 - 4 hours from me, and Chicago is around 5 - 6 hours. Plus I have friends and a sister in Minneapolis. I guess for those conveniences, it's worth the extra money. Do you know if they will lower their price if they spot treat? I only need about 1/3 of my face done. Please keep the board updated with your experiences and improvement. I'm very interested in going to the Alina Clinic, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on th
  14. I'm considering having smoothbeam for my scars. Could someone please once again post the price of Smoothbeam with Dr. Del Campo in Chicago? On his website he doesn't even mention Smoothbeam (although I realize he's listed on the Smoothbeam website). Also, someone on this thread mentioned that there is a dr. in MN that does Smoothbeam. Could you please give me the name, number and address of this doctor?? I live in central WI, and if this Dr. is in the Minneapolis area, it would be much cl
